Spencer Reid was exhausted. He had barely time to get home from the airport, change his clothes and head straight to work. The plane ride from Vegas was horrible. He had thought he might be able to sleep the entire way home; but he was stuck sitting between the worlds most sweaty man, who snored like a buzz saw and a woman whose breath was so bad he could hardly breathe; she of course wanted to talk to him the entire flight home.

He slowly made his way to the BAU kitchen and poured himself a large cup of coffee with extra sugar. The rest of the team was already in the conference room waiting for him. He grimaced as he walked up the stairs. His back was killing him and his legs felt like he had just run a marathon, not to mention the pounding headache that felt like the culmination of six hangovers. He made a mental note never to mix brandy and champagne again.

The team was already seated

"Hey, happy New Year pretty boy. How was Vegas, did you have a good Christmas?" Morgan asked.

Spencer nodded and winced as he sat down. He had spent nearly every Christmas in Vegas with his mom This year was very different, but he wasn't about to get into that now; especially with Morgan and the rest of the team . He noticed it got very quiet. The team were exchanging looks with each other. He looked around the room at them.

"What?" he said irritably as he took a gulp of coffee.

Morgan just grinned. Prentiss put her hand in front of her mouth as if to hide her smirk. Rossi leaned forward. "Reid. is there something you want to tell us?"

"Like what?" He said as he tried to read their faces 'What the hell was going on? Profilers could be such a pain in the ass sometimes.'

Morgan pointed to Reid's hand, "Like, did you get married?"

"Are you nuts?" Reid looked at his left hand and sure enough he was wearing a gold wedding band. He stared at it a few seconds, a sombre expression on his face.

Garcia laughed, "Why were we not invited to the wedding?"

Reid looked up at them. 'Should I tell them?' He thought.

He answered in a flat emotionless voice. "My father showed up at Bennington. He gave me this. He said it belonged to his father and he wanted me to have it. I put it on just to see if it fit. Then I couldn't get it off."

The smiles faded from his colleagues faces. They knew Reid's dad was a touchy subject. "Oh!" was all he heard. The room held an uncomfortable silence. It was broken by Reid who suddenly stood up and spoke.

"Ah, would you all excuse me for a few minutes, I'll be right back " Reid left the room quickly and headed towards the bathroom.

Morgan shook his head, "When will I learn to keep my stupid mouth shut." Prentiss gave him a sympathetic pat on the arm.

Reid hurried into the men's washroom. He checked the stalls to see if anyone was there. He took his cell phone from his pocket and dialled, someone on the other end picked up.

"Hi! Yeah. It's great to talk to you again so soon. Me too, yes, I'm glad we decided to meet up in Vegas for the holidays, It was like nothing I've ever done before...believe me. Yeah... there's something I need to ask you." He took a deep breath. "Austin... did we get married?"
