Dr. Keller? Really? Of all the medical doctors here in Atlantis, Jennifer Keller was the last one I expected to be picked as our new Chief of Medicine. Not that I doubt Dr. Keller's skill. Undoubtedly, she is very talented – but so is everybody else in this expedition. That's why we're here. From this perspective, there's nothing to make Dr. Keller particularly special. Although what do I know? I'm just a nurse. Or so they keep telling me.

Oh, its not that I don't like Jennifer Keller. She's certainly a very sweet young lady, and she's always been very polite to me. No, I like her just fine, and she certainly makes a terrific doctor. But that doesn't mean she'll be a good Chief of Medicine. That takes an entirely different set of skills that I'm not sure she possesses. Not that I fault her for this. These are skills that one develops with age and experience, but she hasn't had a chance get them – the poor dear is just a child. She would be my daughter's age, if my little girl was still alive. Man, I know from experience that most people don't really start to mature until their late thirties. My Stephie didn't even learn how to iron till she was twenty two! Ha! She was such a hoot!

Oh yes, back to Dr. Keller. I just think that regardless of her skill, or her potential, Dr. Keller has as much experience in the medical field as an intern. But this is understandable - she's only twenty five, for goodness sake! As I understand it, she finished medical school no more than three years ago. This gives her at most three years of first hand medical experience. They must have been a damn good three years, if they counted for more than the twenty plus years of experience and exceptional research claimed by other physicians. Granted, most of these physicians are complete pricks, but I have to give credit where credit is due. They are quite brilliant. To be quite honest, I didn't think anything short of a Nobel Prize could have given Dr. Keller a chance against them. But apparently I was mistaken.

You know, I don't have a problem with being wrong, but in this case, I just don't think I was. I do have quite a few doubts about Dr. Keller, and I hope for her sake and ours that she proves me wrong. Still, she is a bright young lady, perhaps she'll surprise me.
