Random idea for a one shot popped in my head and I had to write it up. Hope everyone enjoys.
My name is Tori and I have a few weeks left to live. My doctor can't put an exact date on it, but he made it clear if I live for even another month I'd be lucky. I found out several months ago I had a brain tumor that was to big to operate on. I haven't told any of my friends yet and I'm afraid of what their reactions will be. I knew I had to tell them today though.
Cat was the first one I told when I got to school. Her reaction was basically what I thought it would be, she didn't understand at first and when she finally did she went into denial. It would be okay though, once I am gone I dunno how long she'll even remember me.
Next I told Andre. "Tori, is this an early April fools joke?" He asked while sounding scared. Once I convinced him it was real he actually got mad at me and turned around and walked off. I knew it would be okay thought, he was just scared right now.
Robbie came next and to my surprise he didn't even seem phased by it. He did make a comment through Rex that we should hook up before I "kicked the bucket". That was fine I always knew he was a worthless creep.
Next I found Beck. He took it as I pictured he would, he was calm and collected asking me if there was anything he could do to help me. After I reassured him there wasn't he let me know he'd be there for me.
Now came Jade, I wasn't sure how her reaction would be. Lately she's been acting different around me; not being as mean or hoping I'd do something embarrassing for her to record and put on splash face and the slap.
I found her in the black box theater cutting up a rose. "Jade," I said softly and she didn't even look at me, just continued to cut up her rose. "Why didn't you tell us, me, sooner?" She finally asked breaking the awkward silence. "Don't worry, I didn't look through your medical records Andre told me when I saw him a bit ago. He seemed really mad, too."
I sighed, I didn't know what to say to make things easier on her. I was mainly just surprised that she even cared. "Of course I care!" Exclaimed Jade. Oops must of said that out loud. I took a seat by her and we jut sat there for a while. Ignoring the bells signaling classes were starting or ending.
Eventually school was over though and we had to leave. She grabbed my sleeve stopping me as I stood up.
"You know Vega you drive me insane!" She exclaimed. She started to say something but then stopped. Instead of finishing her sentence she kissed me instead.
"Jade?" I asked confused at what just happened. It was to late to get an answer now though as she was already gone from the black box theater.
