He was a special boy.

"What should we do with him?"

"He's your son."

The infant looked up into his mother's eyes, a deep shade of blue. His father's, a vivid jade tone. Next to the child sat a white cat with wings.
They were not normal in the least, any of them.

Deep down, both parents were torn—but they knew what they had to do.

"Alex," the mother began. "You know his future."

"I understand…he wields unimaginable power. To be more than both the goddess and the Dragonmaster combined..." The father sighed.

Your incarnation—Lucia—she cannot save him?" The white cat-creature asked.

"No. He is a great danger to this world. He cannot live in this era."

"That is why he has to be sealed away."

"You do not feel any remorse?"

The father looked at his wife. Truly, he did feel remorse. What they wished for was a peaceful life, following the ordeal a few years ago, but now this…

"There will be chaos if we let him be. You know that, Luna." He replied.

"I do…that's why it has to be done, doesn't it?" The mother said solemnly.

"There is no other way?"

"No other way."

"Then let it be done."

The mother kneeled next to the child. She drew a stripe across his cheek. "One, to seal your power." The place she had touched glowed in response. She drew another stripe.
"Two, to put you to sleep." The second line glowed. "That is all." The mother finished, and the light faded, leaving two bright green marks on the child's face. She picked him up and held him.

The father was downcast. "How long…will he sleep?"

The mother could not meet her husband's eyes, either. "…At least a thousand years."

"Starting tonight?" he asked.

The mother nodded.

"I entrust him to you, Nall. Find him a good family."

"W-what? Me?" The baby dragon asked, surprised. "...Ok, I will..."

The little boy yawned, and leaned in closer to his mother's chest. She sighed, tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes.
This was the last time she would ever be able to caress her son.

"Please…until you're strong enough, let the seal hold…" She whispered. "I pray there will be no one who seeks you for that reason when you wake up."

"Sleep well…Hiro."
