chapter 1 the gathering
"All men of age must join and fight in the army in the name of the empire. By order of the lord of this land Fredrick orc bane" said the town messenger with that said 20 guards begin to take teenagers of age to join in the war. One of them was young Theodoric he was barely 18 when he was taking away to fight in the war against the dark elves. "Bye mom" he manged to choke out between a sob his mom though was to busy weeping and saying her son is dead to notice he had already left. "this bites" said one of the young men in the back rank and guess what he was right.
5 years later
"ahhhhhhh" screamed Theodoric as he was stab a dark elf blade he then made a swift counter strike but the agile dark elf effortlessly side stepped out of the swords path. Then lunged his killing blow! Just then out of the fight a lone horse men charged in at a break neck speed. Then he stab the dark elf and slammed him tho the ground then he turned to Theodoric and said "you are lucky i noticed you fighting the general" Theodoric gave him a look that could kill and with that the lone horse men rode off back into the fray. A million questions raced trough Theodoric mind. Who was he why did he help me then his thoughts were interrupted by a huge lizard charged at him. But luckily Theodoric rolled out of the way and he quickly stab the left flank of the lizard. Then the lizards tail slammed him against a tree he was winded maybe a couple of broken ribs but other then that he was fine then the lizard charged once more then he jumped and stabbed the lizard in the eye but he saw that the driver was about to kill him just then a hail of arrows killed the driver and mount alike Theodoric had his shield on his back so luckily he only got one arrow to his hind quarters the wound might heal but his pride never will heal. When he looked to see who saved his life he was going to thank them a thousand times but when he got down all he say were children in battle amour when he said "good job kids" the Dwarfs gave him a swift kick to his pride. He quickly wished he could take back what he had just said but regardless the dwarfs brought him back to the camp and he was quickly healed. He then said a thousand apologizes the dwarfs but one dwarf just kept on saying "little kids are we then how come we saved you" and he would get a stern look from his superior. then Theodoric saw the face of the horse men who saved his life but when he went to talk to him the horse men just said "do i know you ". "of course you do you silly fool you are the one that saved my life" Theodoric replied "what is your name again" the horse men asked "my name is Theodoric" Theodoric answered. "ah yes the insanely brave and stupid one that was fighting the general right" the horse men replied smugly. "i like to think i am 1 part brave 3 part fool" Theodoric said with a laugh then the horse men said "my name is hargan" "thank you for saving my life hargan dark elf slayer and i am and will always be in your debt" said Theodoric kneeling. "ha ha ha that wont be necessary you fool" said hargan with a grin
