~What Might Have Been, What Might Yet Be~
Authoress's note: Hi all! This is just a little ficlet that my brother and I were inspired to write during the Mirror of Erised scene from the HP movie. We got talking about what some of the other characters would see in the Mirror, and this was the result. Some parts are going to be kind of angsty, but I hope you'll enjoy it. Just for the record: I (the Phantom of the Basement) wrote these first two chapters for Sirius and Ginny, and have two more chapters to write. My brother will write three other chapters. Disclaimer: Don't own, don't sue.

Sirius: This Cursed Existence
What would I see if I looked in the Mirror of Erised? That's a laugh. I would see the reality of what I've wished for, for the past fourteen years. I would see myself taking the Oath of the Secret-Keeper for Lily and James. I'd see Harry, my beloved godson, growing up in Godric's Hollow with two loving parents and a godfather who loves him like a second father. I'd be looking on as James teaches Harry how to play Quidditch, I'd see myself telling Harry about all of the pranks James, Peter, Moony and I pulled at Hogwarts. I'd see Lily reading to Harry, or helping him with his summer class work. I'd see him attending Hogwarts with out the threat of Voldemort hanging over his head; riding the Hogwarts Express home for the Christmas holidays, instead of staying at school because no one wants him. I'd see myself walking along Diagon Alley with Prongs and Moony. Peter would be with us too. Not the traitor Peter, but the Peter we knew at Hogwarts. Our old comrade, the old Wormtail, the Peter from before "the worm turned". In short, all those who I care about would be safe and happy, living the lives that they were meant to live.

Ginny: Deeper Than I Seem
What's the deepest desire of my heart? Simple. I'd see myself defeating Lord Voldemort and winning the respect of my brothers and Harry Potter. Everyone think that I'm just a silly little girl, but I'd show them that there's more to me thank just what lies on the surface. Even more than that, though, I'd avenge what Voldemort has taken from those I know and love: my father's time- he's spent countless unpaid hours overtime at the Ministry-, Percy's happiness with his new career- the affair with Mr. Crouch last year nearly destroyed him-, and so many innocent lives. After that, maybe Virginia Weasley will get the respect that she deserves.
Authoress's Note #2: Me again. If you think that Ginny's OOC, go ahead and tell me. I just thought that there had to be more under the surface, something deeper than just the little girl with a crush on Harry. As my bother and I write more, it will be added to this chapter. I had originally planned to do this in chapter form, but then realized that each chapter would be really short, so I'm doing it like this. If you have suggestions, please let me know by reviewing or emailing me. Thank you a lot! (
