Another one-shot? I must be so free, huh?
Well, I hope you enjoy!

"We don't remember days. We remember moments." – Casare Pavese
It was a normal clean-up day in the quite large house of the Touyama household and Kazuha was cleaning up the attic when she spotted a musty looking book at the corner of a tiny crook wedged between two boxes. Stretching out her hand, her fingers brushed at the edge of it, making it fall down in a cloud of dust. Sneezing, she caught hold of one end and dragged it towards her.
Jumping down from the chair that she stood on, she sat down on the floor and opened it up. Her eyes widened at the gold that she got.
It was an album of her and Heiji.
The first few pictures depicted them in diapers. One of the pictures showed a baby Kazuha crying while Heiji sat a little bit away from her, holding a bottle of milk protectively in him.
She flipped through a few pages and saw her 8 year old self in a red kimono with patterns of flowers holding a red ball, her hair in pigtails. "Ah," she said, "this was in Kyoto."
Seeing a picture of the two of them handcuffed sent a smile in her face. It was Heiji's idiotic idea to play cops and robbers with a pair of real handcuffs.
Middle school graduation, Heiji's national kendo match, cultural festivals, as she flipped through the photos, memories came to her.
Then high school graduation. Both of them graduated at the top of their class.
Kazuha remembered Heiji giving her the second button of his shirt, stating that it would be 'troublesome' if he kept it 'cause girls would always chase after him. She still didn't know if that was his real reason or not.
She flipped another page and smiled at the silly faces and poses of Heiji as they traveled around the world a year after high school graduation. She had won the tickets on a lottery.
Her breath hitched as she stared at the picture of Heiji kissing her cheek, a surprised look on her face. Kazuha's cheeks turned red. That was their first date. That aho had finally asked her out for dinner.
She flipped some more and then saw an empty spot. She frowned and then her eyebrows rose in surprise. The missing picture was a stolen shot of her in a wedding dress during their third year of university for the cultural festival. Heiji must've taken it when he went out for the last case.
Her classmates were idiots, forcing them to hold a mock wedding in front of a whole crowd as part of a play.
That moment was probably the turning point of everything.
Kazuha closed the book before she could look at the last photo.
"I guess it's time to go and visit him, huh."
And with that, she carefully wiped the album and propped it up on a table beside Heiji's picture.
Well, what do you think the last photo was? I did say that it would be Heiji's turn next, didn't I? I hope you liked it!
See you next time!
