Hey everyone! I know I haven't posted any fanfic in a while, and I'm totally sorry. I've kind of gotten wrapped up in writing this novel I started. I'm pretty proud with my progress so far! But here's a little something to show I'm still kicking!

Just for some background, I honestly think the Citadel DLC could've even worked as an after storyline thing. Sort of that 'ride off into the sunset' some people were wanting, one last big adventure with the gang. So that's what I made it! I might write a bigger version later.

Usual disclaimer: I do not own Mass Effect or any of the characters. I'd be a hell of a lot nicer with them, that's for sure.

"Kaidan…"

"Yes Shepard?"

"I hurt…"

"I know sweetheart."

If anyone else saw the scene laid out in front of them they would have not believed that the whining woman lying face down, perpendicular across the bed and the lap of the man she loved was the Hero of the Citadel, and more recently the Savior of the Galaxy. She hadn't complained when she woke up in the rubble of the destroyed space station, when she found out that her virtually crushed right leg would very possibly have to go, when she fell on her face when attempting to run to greet her once lost crew, or even to the harsh people at physical therapy.

However, after she decided that she had to beat Vega's pull up record when he had came over to see how restoring the apartment she had been left by Anderson was going. He brought up his record and Shepard had decided that she had to beat that smug grin off of his face. She did, and Vega left with the sadness and amazement of defeat. Kaidan had come back home from a meeting with Hackett to find her sitting on the living room couch watching a re-run of Fleet and Floatilla with a pitiful expression. She couldn't work her crutches because she hurt so much and couldn't risk putting too much pressure on her slowly healing leg. Needless to say he ended carrying her up the stairway.

Shepard let out another pitiful groan. "Why did I do that?"

"Because Vega provoked you when he should know better." He replied, continuing to flip through a restoration report on a data pad. "Don't worry, I'll kick his ass for it later."

"Don't go too hard on him with your 'superior biotic skills'. Not like me made me use my gimp leg to do the pull ups." She grumbled into the blanket.

Kaidan couldn't help but chuckle to himself a little bit. "Now he knows he has someone who can best him at his main hobby." He said, brushing away some of her hair that had obscured her face when she attempted to turn her head.

"Yup. Apparently me." The grin was infectious as she replied in a sing-song voice "I still got it!"

"And your PT people are probably going to complain tomorrow about you not taking it easy. That should be fun."

She scoffed. "Tell me about it. Everyone knows I can't walk without help, but oh yeah, I can do one hundred and eighty-three pull ups no problem."

He nearly dropped the data pad on her back. "You just told me you beat Vega's pull up record, not that you did one hundred and eighty three of them!"

She laughed uneasily. "His record was one hundred and eighty-two."

"Sandra, I'm pretty sure that's humanly impossible to even do."

"So is apparently learning the Reave ability, but you used to do that all the time."

"Touche." He sighed, opting to put the data pad on the nightstand to read when he could actually focus. "Do you want me to get you some pain meds and massage your shoulders?"

The desperate whimper was back in her voice when she replied. "That would be amazing right now."
