A/N: This is a rewrite of a story I wrote when I was 13 (yeaaahhhh).

So, don't expect the plot to be that great (I'm reworking it).

This takes place in the events of HGSS. Also, Witch is not a selectable for a character to add, so yeah :P)

It was a typical morning in Gold Town. Witch was preparing to go to the Gachinko Dungeon to get some ingredients for her newest potion. Hopefully she could get some dragon snot there. Witch looked out the window. The clouds were dark, and the wind was blowing rather harshly. This gloomy weather wouldn't stop her, though. She laced her ebony boots and went out the door.

"Be careful, dear!" her grandmother, Wish, called.

"I will!" Witch smiled.

The walk to the town center was not far, but it didn't help that Witch's blond tresses kept blowing in her face. Suddenly, she noticed a crowd of people flocked together around the fountain in the middle of town. They were all staring up into the sky. Witch, clearly confused, looked up herself.

There was something that looked almost like a vortex in the sky. A red mist with a black swirl in the center. Witch pushed through the crowd. She didn't know what was going on, but she had to know.

"Ouch! Hey, watch where you're going!" a female voice exclaimed.

Witch looked behind her to see a familiar face. Rulue, the woman she ran into, was a martial artist who was a rival of Witch's friend Arle. She was tall and very beautiful. Her blue hair, which she usually wore down, was tied into a ponytail with a red ribbon.

"Hey, so, what's going on?" Witch asked, "Where's Arle?"

"You think I care where Arle is?" Rulue snapped, "And of course I don't know what's going on!"

Witch pouted. She was going to ask Minotauros, Rulue's body guard, but what would be the point? But what was that thing? If anybody would know, it would be Arle. So, Witch looked through the crowd, as best she could at her height, to try to find her, scanning for Arle's blue armor and yellow companion, Carbuncle. People started leaving the town center when thunder crashed, returning to their homes for shelter.

When Witch got home, Wish brought a bowl of hot beef stew to the table and listened intently to her granddaughter talk about the vortex.

"It was the weirdest thing!" Witch said, "And no one could even begin to figure it out!"

"Evil forces are ahead. I can just feel it," Wish sighed.

"So, what do we do about this?" Witch asked.

"We'll figure it out," her grandmother replied, "I promise."

Meanwhile, in some other world, a young boy named Gold was getting ready for his last Gym Battle in the Kanto region.

"Okay!" the boy said, turning to his Pokemon, "Are you ready, Typhlosion?"

The big, Fire-type cheered in agreement. They raced down the streets of Viridian City. Gold then saw Green, the Viridian Gym Leader, already outside the Gym. He was curiously looking into the sky.
