So yeah. It was inspiring. So I wrote this.
Magnus couldn't help it.
He stared.
And he knew.
The black hair was the first tip.
Deep black locks curled around their faces, distinguishing the two young Nephilim as siblings.
The blue eyes were next.
The boy's were shining, taking in his surroundings with the practiced ease of one who was trained to fight, to see, and to be ready for everything.
The same way he had been.
The pendant sealed it, though.
That made him sure.
It hung bright around the girl's neck, burning against her pale skin as it registered the demons and Downworlders around her. She didn't flinch, however, making Magnus imagine that she had become accustomed to the heat, and knew exactly what it meant.
He remembered, not without heartache, the last time he had seen the necklace.
It had first been a gift to Camille, and then he had given it to him, to William, when Magnus had learnt of his plans. William had given it away, though, to protect his sister; the Herondales always did protect their family, he mused.
Cecily, had been her name, he thought.
Cecily Herondale Lightwood.
As the group of Shadowhunters moved closer to him, Magnus leaned against a pillar and fought to gain control of his emotions. A century had gone by, and yet it was still a certain kind of hell to remember Will. He didn't think there would ever be a time when it wouldn't be.
But for now, there was business to attend to.
The Fairchild girl was here, and she obviously needed something.
Christ, but her hair was as red as Henry's.
Pushing his thoughts to the back of his mind, he spoke in Clarissa's general direction.
"You like the party?"
