Prologue: Motoko's Story.
The King, Queen, and their newborn baby, Motoko, were the only ones left of the Moon's Kingdom.
"We have to send her to Earth. She is the only hope to repopulate the kingdom." said the Queen as she put her picture with a note on the back in the small shuttle with Motoko. This note read:
Dear Random Earth Dwelling Person,
I'm sorry for giving you this child of the moon, but I, as the queen of the moon and mother of this child, have been killed, along with the rest of the kingdom, by a vortex made by the kingdom's mad scientist. My daughter is the only hope to save the moon. Her name is Motoko. Please protect her with your life. Do not tell her of her origins...

Queen Sakura sent of the shuttle carrying her only daughter just as the vortex swallowed the castle.
Meanwhile, on Earth.
Yumi's mom was walking down the streets of Tokyo. A small space shuttle landed gently in front of her. The usually busy street was now completely deserted. She opened the small shuttle. Inside was a small Japanese baby. A picture of her mom was in there. Yumi's mom read the note on the back and understood the situation. She took Motoko home to meet her new best friend, Yumi.
As Motoko grew up, she became more curious of things. Finally, when she was 5, while watching super milk chan, she asked, "Aunty, who, and where, is my mommy?" Yumi's mom froze then said, "Your mother died shortly after you were born." Motoko decided not to question it and was sadder until Yumi's mom decided to take the small family on a cruise around the Pacific Ocean when Motoko tuned 15.
