One Special Valentines Day

Well it was that day again, my most hated day of the year. Valentines Day, Yes I, Kelsi Nielson hate Valentines Day and fortunately for me everyone else at East High loves it. Every year they put up hearts and flowers all over the school. Not to mention the fact that it's kind of gross to see everyone making out. I mean seriously everywhere you go there's a couple kissing. It's disgusting!

Valentines Day is just another day for quiet girls like me when every guy in school ignores us. So yeah I hate it. Little did I know that this year that was about to change.

So this morning I was at my locker getting some books out, when I found a note from Jason. "We need to talk. Meet me by my locker in 5 minutes. Love Jason."

Jason Cross was my boyfriend of almost 2 years. I really like him, in fact I love him but I just don't know how to tell him. So when I found his note I thought "today's the day I tell him."

Just then my best friends Taylor and Gabriella came over.

"Hey Kels"

"Hey guys"

"What you up to?" Asked Gabriella

"Just going to see Jason" I replied.

"When are you going to tell him?" Asked Taylor.

You see I had already told the girls that I loved Jason and they had been nagging me to tell him ever since.

"Today," I said nervously.

"Good luck," they both said.

Then the guys came over and by the guys I mean Troy and Chad, Gabriella and Taylor's boyfriends and also the two most popular boys in school and I am lucky to be friends with them.

So Troy wrapped his arms around Gabriella's waist from behind, said "hey babe. Happy Valentines Day" and handed her a bunch of flowers and a gift.

Gabriella giggled and kissed him. Troy returned the kiss and they started making out.

Gross much!

So I said to Chad and Taylor, who I could tell were also a little grossed out "I'll see you guys later." Then I went to find Jason.

I Found Jason at his locker. When I walked over he said "Hey."

I could tell by the look in his eyes that something was wrong. "Jason, is everything alright?"

"Listen Kels, I really like you and everything but I just don't think it's going to work out between us."

My eyes started to well up, I couldn't speak.

"Kels?"

I didn't say anything, I just ran. I heard him calling after me, but I just kept running.

I ran all the way to the music room. I was still crying and after a while someone came in. It was Ryan Evans. Yes the very brother of Sharpay Evans, the mean Drama Queen of the school and also my biggest enemy.

He saw me crying and came over to me. "Kelsi, are you okay?"

I turned around and gently shook my head.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Jason broke up with me," I sobbed.

"Oh!" He exclaimed. "And on Valentines Day too!"

I nodded my head and he sat down beside me and hugged me tight. "It's okay, don't worry" he said.

Then he pulled back. "Kelsi?" He asked.

I looked up at him, teary eyed, "yeah?"

"I know this probably isn't a very good time to tell you this but…" He took a deep breath and I waited anxiously for what he was going to say next.

"I really like you."

I suddenly stopped crying. "You do?"

He nodded his head shyly and I smiled at him. I always did have a bit of a crush on him.

"Kelsi?" He asked.

"Yeah Ryan?" I replied quietly.

He took another deep breath and said "will you be my Valentine?"

I looked at him, smiling.

"Oh Ryan I'd love to." I said happily.

He smiled back and kissed me.

It was at this moment that I thought to myself, "Maybe Valentines Day isn't so bad after all."
