Antonio walked up to the door with a smile on his face. He had a small box in his wrapped in pink and red. It was Valentine's Day and he was looking forward to seeing Romano open his present.

He walked up to the door and knocked. "Hey Lovi~ Are you in there?" he called happily.

"Go away, you d*mn b*stard!" he heard from the other side. "Freaking Valentines… Who needs 'em." he heard, only quieter.

"Lovi? Are you okay?" Antonio asked in concern.

"I told you to go away!" Lovino yelled.

Antonio's smile turned into a frown and he contemplated going in or not. After a moment of thinking he turned the knob and peeked his head in. "Lovi?" he asked again. The small italian was huddled underneath the covers on the large bed and mumbling things to himself.

"Just go away already, d*mn b*stard!" he complained.

Antonio chuckled and stepped inside. "Lovi~ It's Valentine's Day. Shouldn't you be up and around giving cute valentines to people?" the spaniard asked.

"No! Now go away or send me away or whatever already." Romano complained.

Antonio walked over to the bed and pulled up the covers, revealing the small child. His face was tinted pink, like he had ben crying. "Lovi, where did you get the idea that I was going to send you away? What's wrong? Come on, tell Boss Spain what's wrong." he demanded softly.

Lovino pulled the covers back over himself. "I heard you talking to that lady. You and I both know what she was saying is true! I'm more trouble than I'm worth. The only reason you kept me in the first place is because I'm getting Grandpa Rome's inheritance." he confessed.

Antonio looked at the lump in disbelief. "You actually believe that? Oh. Lovi~ I'm not going to listen to what she's saying. And I'm not just keeping you for that inheritance."

"D*mn b*stard, stop denying it!" Lovino yelled.

Antonio chuckled. "You know, you would be a lot cuter if you didn't yell those nasty words all the time." he mentioned, still smiling.

"Why don't you just go away already?" the small italian asked in an irritated voice.

Antonio smiled and pulled up the covers again. "Because I have a present for you, Lovi~" he said with a teasing grin.

"Then what are you waiting for? Give it to me already." Lovino demanded.

Antonio picked up the tiny boy and set him in his lap, Romano pouted. "Here you go, Lovi. I hope you like it!" the older male said happily and handed him the small package.

Lovino ripped away the neat wrapping and opened the box. "It's tomato." he stated bluntly.

"I was out in the garden this morning and that was the ripest, biggest, freshest tomato I could find. And I plan on making some pasta tonight for you. And…." he paused and reached into his pocket. The searched around until he finally found what he was looking for. A long red string that he had pulled off of his red vest when it had come loose. "since you mentioned that you thought I would send you away, here's another present." he said kindly and wrapped a bow around Romano's right pinky and his own.

"What is it?" Lovino asked, already biting into the tomato.

"It's a promise. A promise that I will always protect you and always keep you. That we will be together forever." Antonio explained." Lovino blushed a bright red. "Oh, Lovi~ Your face is as red as the tomato!" he pointed out.

"Shut up! D*mn b*stard…." he trailed off. "Forever is a long time you dummy. Are you sure you can stand me for that long?" he asked quietly.

"I know how long forever is. And though you may be troublesome, you're still you. And I like you too much to throw you away." Antonio said and smiled.

"You better be ready for it. Cause I'm a lot of trouble." the italian warned.

"I know. Now let's go make that pasta, shall we?"

"D*mn b*stard…."
