The Ball

Misty woke up one morning in her chamber. She heard her mother call downstairs for breakfast. Her hair was messy and her eyes were red. She got out of bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen.

"Good gracious," her mother exclaimed, as she looked at Misty's horribly face. "Sweetie, are you going to be okay?"

"Yes mother," Misty replied, as she took a seat at the kitchen table. A plate and a cup was on the table in front of her. Her mother walked over to her with a plate of pancakes, she put two pancakes on Misty's plate and on her own. She poured there selves some orange juice, and she sat on a chair in front of Misty.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" her mother asked. Misty nodded, and started eating her food. Father suddenly came in the kitchen and took a seat in between Misty and mother.

"Are you okay Misty, you look kind of sleepy?" Father asked.

"I am fine father," Misty replied.

"You shouldn't be taking those pills you be taking every night," Father said.

"But they help me get too sleep!" Misty exclaimed.

"You better not speak to me with that attitude, or no ball for you," Father said, as he ate some of his pancakes.

"Ball? What ball?" Misty asked.

"The ball we are having tonight, sweetie," Mother replied.

"And I'm not inviting that boy that you keep hanging out with," Father said.

"You mean Ash?" Misty asked. Father nodded. "Why not?' Misty asked.

"I don't trust him," Father replied.

"What don't you trust about him?"

"Everything,"

Misty finished her breakfast and went to do her chores. She scrubbed the floor, cleaned the windows, whipped the walls, cleaned her room, washed the clothes, cleaned Father and Mother's room, washed the car, washed herself, washed the animals, (Pochyena and Skitty) fed the animals, changed the Skitty's litter box, changed the Pochyena's newspaper box, and watered the plants. Misty fell to the ground in her chamber limp. "I do all of these chores everyday and always gets dark, and don't get much time to have fun," Misty whined. She closed her eyes. She opened her eyes by her mother shaking her.

"Misty sweetie, don't go to sleep on the floor," Mother said. Mother stood Misty up and laid her on her bed. "You better get ready sweetie, because the guests will be here any second," Mother said, as she rushed out of the room.

"No sleeping…" Misty said, exhausted. She got up and went to go change. "Oh yes the ball, I forgot all about it!" she said, as she looked through her closet for something to wear. She found a green long gown. "I have never wore this before," Misty said, as she slipped it on over the dress she was wearing. She then rushed in the bathroom.

Downstairs in the wide room, Mother and Father were waiting for the guest. Mother was wearing a red gown and Father was wearing a black tuxedo. There was a knock on the door. "Oh," Mother said, as she rushed over to the front door. She opened the door and the guest were standing outside wearing excellent clothing. "I'm so glad all of you came!" Mother said, happily. Most of them bowed and the others nodded. They all walked in the house.

After one hour the party has started. Misty was standing next to the punch table sighing. Father walked up to her. "Why aren't you having, Mist?" Misty sighed again. "You're waiting for that Ash character aren't you? Well, I didn't invite him like I said," Father said, as he walked away. Misty sighed then left the ballroom. She went outside and sat on the front porch. She looked down at her shoes and sighed again. She saw another pair of shoes stepped in front of her. She looked up to find Ash looking down at her. He was wearing a blue tuxedo. He put his hand out. Misty grabbed it and he pulled her up. They started dancing. At least he came! Misty thought.
