NOTE: So, in this story... Rin never existed. Vicky instead. I do not own any Naruto character in any way, shape or form.
Vicky was happy with the team she had been placed on
Vicky was happy with the team she had been placed on. Better yet, she was even happier with her Sensei. Vicky, Kakashi and Obito worked well together… well… For the most part. As long as Vicky was there to keep the peace between Kakashi and Obito, everything was fine.
Obito, an Uchiha, was quite talented. He was the loudmouth of the group. He was also very opinionated. Vicky often told him he should think before he spoke… or in general, before he did anything.
Kakashi was headstrong. He knew what he wanted, and he always got it. Work first. Always. He and Obito for the most part never got along. Obito wanted Vicky; buuuut Kakashi always seemed closer to her. Oh course they would. They were friends far before they were both placed on the same team with the soon to be 4th Hokage.
Vicky, another Uchiha was the calmer one of the team. She took Kakashi and Obito's bickering as it came, often time beating one of them into the ground when neither one would shut up. Ok… she wasn't the calmer one. Perhaps she was put on a team with Kakashi and Obito to play referee… she never understood. All in all, she thought it was to balance Obito out and help him develop as an Uchiha.
That was then… this was now. Kakashi, Vicky and Minato-Sensei were on their way back from their previous mission. Was it successful? They HAD blown up the bridge. But they had also lost Obito. No one said much on the way back to leaf. No one. Not one word. The moment they arrived back to their village, they all went their separate ways.
Vicky never knew what the other two did once they got back. She on the other hand, went straight for a shower, which resulted with her on the floor of her shower, in hysterics. She stayed there for a good few hours and somehow (she didn't know how) she dragged herself into bed. Bed. The place she stayed for weeks to come. She couldn't get out of bed. If she tried, another emotional spat came along which resulted in her lying down to calm down, and ending up falling asleep.
Minato-Sensei came by once a day, everyday to make sure she hadn't suffocated on her pillows. Each visit was the same, always the same. He came. He talked. Vicky said nothing. He left. Vicky figured he was doing the same with Kakashi.
Kakashi. She hadn't seen him in weeks. She missed him. Since they were 3, they were always together. Kakashi and Vicky's parents were friends. Both sets of parents all were killed around the same time too. Caused their bond to strengthen. Maybe too much. Most people thought they were WAY too comfortable with each other. They'd eat off of each other's plates; sleep in the same bed (fully clothed of course!). Basically… if an outsider were to view in on their situation, they'd think the two of them were an item. They weren't.
Vicky felt an attraction. She did. She wasn't going to lie about it. But Kakashi had better things to do than run around with a girlfriend. Anyways, to him, Vicky was his friend. His best friend. Nothing more. Or so she thought.
"What the hell, I'll go see him.." Vicky spoke to no one in particular. She needed time to get ready though. After weeks of crying and staying in bed… there was no way she was leaving without a bit of preparation. Ok… A LOT of prep was needed once she got to the mirror.
An hour later, Vicky was done. It was as good as it was going to get. She made her way over to Kakashi's house. This was only the next block over. She let herself in… neither of them ever knocked. Once inside, she noticed Kakashi sitting on his coach to the right of the door, his back facing hers. "Hey you, I figured you'd want some company. How you doing?" She sat down next to him.
"I should have helped him…"
"There was nothing either one of us could have done… nothing. All we can do is more on. Not forget… just, move on." She was staring at Kakashi, trying to find something in his eyes. She didn't know what, just something.
"I know. You'll help me though… right?" Kakashi was looking at her funny… he stared moving in closer to her and soon, his forehead was touching hers.
"Of course I will… whatever I can do Kakashi…" and then his lips were on hers. This was fierce. His tongue explored every inch of her mouth, with one had on her hip and the other tangled in her hair. As soon as it began, it was over. And suddenly the mood changed.
"Out. Get out. Just go."
"Kakashi? I… what?"
"Go… I will never thing of you as anything more than a friend. Now GO"
Vicky was out of there quicker than you could count to three. All the way home, she replayed what had just happened. Kakashi kissed her. Then kicked her out of his house. I will never thing of you as anything more than a friend. What the hell? HE kissed HER! For some reason, that one statement hurt more than that kiss did.
She didn't understand quite why at that point. Little did she know, years down the road, she would realize why it hurt so much.
