At the Beach

A Fan Fiction for: Despicable Me

"Okay, c'mon girls. We, are going to the beach!" This was a surprise for the girls, so they squealed with glee and started packing up everything they wanted to bring. "I can't BELIEVE we finally get to go to the beach! We've never been!" shouted Edith, "I'm gonna build a sand castle, then TEAR IT DOWN! Just like those kids in the movies! Right Margo?" "Right Edith." Margo giggled. "I'll bet there are gonna be sea unicorns there! They're blue, and they have fiiins, and their horns are green!" Agnes rambled on as Margo and Edith stared at her. "C'mon! The car has started!" shouted their dad from outside.

The drive wasn't long, and they were there within an hour. "I'm gonna start building a sand fort!" shouted Edith to her dad, as he laid out a blanket on the warm sand. "Okay, but stay with your sisters!" He replied. As he was setting up the beach umbrella, he noticed something strange. The ginormous bag of toys he had brought was…well…moving. He glared at it for a moment, then pulled a plasma rifle out of a pocket and took aim.

The fear was building up inside of him. Was it Vector? Sending a weird contraption to strip him of his title? The "#1 Supervillain?" The top of the tote slowly unzipped itself. Where were the girls? Were they okay? Did Vector get them? Or was it the bank of Evil? Coming for his debts? He put his finger on the trigger and squinted. Then the bag fell open, and he dropped the gun to his side with a blank stare.

Three minions fell out of the bag. "Steve, Kevin, Michael, I thought I told you guys to stay at the lab and help Dr. Nefario." They muttered to each other in their own language and stared up at him. "Pleeeaaasseeee?" The tallest one asked. "Ugh, fine, go play with the girls though." The three yellow creatures ran towards the girls, who were currently creating one of the biggest sand castles he had ever seen.

He sat down under the umbrella; his day now ruined, and took out a book. He felt relieved though. "Imagine what could have happened…" he muttered to himself. His unhappy mood was suddenly lifted, and smiling, he glanced over at his children. They changed his life and now held a place tucked away in all that gooey stuff in his heart. He laughed to himself and listened to the little voice in his mind that was telling him to relax. The rest of the day would be fine, and there was nothing to wory about.
