Just to keep her save,...

His body made sure she was covered in shadows, but still the blonde girl backed away. "Stay away from me," she muttered, the tearstains painfully visible on her face. "Don't you dare to touch me!" Alastor bowed down, almost as though he wanted to scare the girl even more. "What's this? A deatheater, cowering in the dark?" His voice sounded like it hadn't been used in ages and he was close enough for the girl to see that a chunk of his nose was missing.

"I am no deatheather! You pathetic excuse of a man!" she spat with such venom, no one would ever suspect that she had been crying just minutes ago. By now she stood upright and was looking at Mad Eye Moody as though he was nothing more than a bug she wanted to crush. "I do not fear you, I just don't want you anywhere near my person!" she snapped, looking straight at the auror.

"Oh really?" Alastor asked, a hint of a smile present in his voice. Now the blonde girl was standing and her grey eyes seemed to be looking into the remains of his soul, he recognised her. "You didn't teach me much, but one of the things you taught me was to never give up. And I'm not about to," she said in harsh tone and looked at the elder man in front of her. "I have nothing to lose. I'm not turning my back on this war." Somewhere during the last sentence her voice had turned icy and her eyes no longer showed any emotion.

"I can't let you go back," Alastor said softly and the girls face contorted into a sneer. "Oh! All of a sudden you've developed sentimental feelings towards me? Now that I'm old enough to take care of myself!" The woman screamed the words at Alastor, almost in a sudden burst of anger. She took a deep breath, in an attempt to calm herself and as she looked up at the man, she managed a little smile.

A tear ran down Alastor's face and she gently wiped it away. "You were never around, but I've always looked up at you," she whispered slowly, not noticing the man in front of her was pointing his wand at her. "I will always love you father," she whispered, and as the words were whisked away in the air, heard by none other than Alastor Moody's ears, a green light shot out of his wand. The flash hit the girl, his only daughter, in the stomach and with a surprised look glistering in her eyes she fell down. He had killed the one person he loved most in this and any other world, just to make sure that the war wouldn't hurt her any longer,…
