A/N: When I originally wrote this story, it wasn't for Derek and Pen. But since I love them so much and don't plan to publish the other couple, I thought I'd give the idea to them. Hope you guys like it! : )

"Excuse me sir, but I think the patient is dying!" Penelope jokingly yelled, shaking a sleeping Derek on the couch. It was their first weekend in their new house, and there was more renovating to do. She needed his help to accomplish it all before his sisters came to visit tomorrow.

She tried to kiss him awake. "Mon amour, I need your help with a few things in the kitchen. You can take a power nap later. Please?"

"Are you trying to kill me doctor?" Derek laughed and wrapped his arms around her neck. "I believe my sickness will be cured immediately with ten more minutes of sleep. Wouldn't want me to flat line, would you?"

She giggled. "My medical smarts are telling me you should suck it up and grab a paintbrush. But if you need it, I can revive you later."

Derek jumped up from the couch. "Let's get started then doctor!" His voice held an enthusiastic tone.

They spent the afternoon flirting and teasing one another with their paintbrushes. In fact, there was more paint on their hair and clothes than the wall. Oh well. Would his sisters really notice if above the stove wasn't the same color as the rest of the room? Penelope didn't think so.

"If I recall doctor, you said you'd revive me if I needed it. In this case, I believe I do." Derek laid back on the kitchen table and shut his eyes. He heard Penelope's quiet laughter as she walked over to him.

She felt his wrist as if checking for a pulse. "Well, that's strange. You seem to have a normal heartbeat. In fact, I don't believe you need to be brought back to life at all." She was only teasing him, but Derek believed her. He grabbed her shoulders and pulled her up to his lips.

"Then perhaps doctor, you need someone to show you the rules of reviving someone. I gladly volunteer." With that said, he pulled her completely on top of him.

"Derek," she warned. "We're going to break this table. Let's go upstairs."

By then however, the action was well underway and both refused to move. The table was a hand me down anyway, but how could they explain if they broke it? Penelope didn't care in the moment what excuse she'd later think of, she only concerned herself with Derek.

Ten minutes later, he finished the wall above the stove while Penelope watched approvingly. No proof existed they took a break during the work filled afternoon. At least nothing gave them away till the following day…

When Derek's sisters came to visit, they originally wanted to stay in the kitchen. The bay window was perfect for bird watching, which was a hobby Penelope and them shared. After a few minutes of talking, his youngest sister leaned against the table and it collapsed instantly. Though they didn't know what had gone atop it, Penelope's face turned red and Derek's chuckle could be heard from the living room. She was pretty sure they got the message. His sisters hadn't visited since.
