This little thing came out of nowhere and pretty much wrote it self. Not sure what to do with this one so please let me know if you'd like to see more from this, and if not leave a review anyway!
Stopping briefly to knock on Louis's door before stepping in Mike stopped a few steps in as Louis glanced up at him and uttered a bored 'yes'.
"Just thought you'd like to know that you're case, the pro bono, I won" Mike said and looked down at Louis as he kept on reading the documents on the table in front of him.
"How exciting for you. But like I said, it's just a pro bono case. It's not going to help your career" He said without looking up. Mike nodded before speaking up.
"I did also manage to sign 15 new clients who are all suing for the same harassment and they will be paying, so you can multiply this number times 15" He said smugly as he dropped the case file down on the table before walking out with a smirk on his face before turning back to look at him as he went to close the office door behind him.
"Not bad for rookie league" He said simply and walked away towards Harvey's office. The huge grin on his face felt like it was going to split his face in two.
"Oh wow, I can see why you like winning so much. It feels really good. Did you see his face as I pulled out the carpet? And Vivian's face when she realised she'd lost?" Mike gushed as he walked into the office.
Harvey had stood up as soon as he'd seen Mike coming towards him.
"Mike" He said simply with a heavy voice and looked at him with sadly. Mike stopped walking and looked at Harvey.
"What? You must admit I did good" Mike said gloatingly.
"Something's happened" Harvey said and cleared his throat. Mike looked confused at Harvey and opened his mouth to speak but Harvey beat him too it.
"It's your Grandmother. She uh had a heart attack. She didn't make it" He said gravely and took a step forward.
Mike expression changed from joy and pride to shock and disbelief as he struggled to take in the words.
"My Grammy's dead?" He asked quietly and looked to the floor briefly before looking up at Harvey with a small hope that he'd say no. Harvey nodded and looked with Mike with pain all over his face.
Mike nodded and opened and closed his mouth several times before Harvey stepped forward and opened his arm and put them around Mike. Slowly putting his arms around Harvey, Mike sniffled and put his head against Harvey's shoulder. Clutching at Harvey's suit Mike took a shuddering breath.
Harvey tightened his hold on Mike as his eyes met Donna's, who was standing by her desk with tears in her eyes. Squeezing his eyes shut he rubbed Mike's back as Mike spoke.
"I'm not ready for this" He said with a broken voice and a sob escaped him.
