Moria … you fear to go into those mines … the dwarves dug them too greedily and too deep … you know what they awoke in the darkness … shadow flame.Sauroman knew this – he and Galdalf had been friends for a long time, and he knew about Galdalf's visit to the seer – the seer who had forseen his death. He knew Gandalf would not choose the road to Moria, not if he had any other choice – he would use that against him in any way possible.
As Gandalf made his way down to Moria, he also remembered his visit with the seer. She had proven totally useless as a seer, or so he had thought. She had given him no information that might have been of use, so after a while he got up to leave.
The woman took one last look at Gandalf before he left in disgust "Your death awaits" she said. "The long dark of Moria will be your undoing and Gandalf the Grey will have nothing more to do with the affairs of Middle Earth." Shivers went up Gandalf's spine and he turned and left.
