Chapter One: The Circus
A long time ago in the town of Yoshino a traveling circus arrived.
There was a crowd in the center of town bustling to see the cages on the carriages. I and my sister Gumi were walking home till we were stopped by what seemed to be a young girl with wide blue eyes and short golden hair handing out flyers.
"Come to the Dark Woods Circus, it's so much fun! My name is Ren and this is Len" the girl said excitedly with a wide- almost mad- smile on her face. She handing Gumi and me a flyer. I looked more closely and there was a boy who looked like the girl closely attached to her. He had a painfully sad look on his face as if he wanted nothing to do with the circus.
"Do you like circuses?" The girl said distracting me from my own thoughts. I looked to see her smiling at me and Guri.
Gumi smiled and said, "Yes." As if she was hypnotized by the girl but I simply nodded looking back at the boy.
"You must be wondering about my brother Len, he's my half." The girl said excitedly, pointing to her brother. 'Half?' I looked to see that Len and Ren were sewn together! I stammered back at the deformed duo and froze.
"Whoa, so cool." Gumi said happily looking at the deformed twins. A sharp whistle played through the streets and suddenly Ren and Len stood straight up and walked back to the carriages.
"That is all folks, if you wish to see more freaks, come to the circus deep in the woods." A loud and deep voice announced and the carriages vanished into the woods. Gumi looked at me with wide eyes.
"We have to go, it looks like so much fun!" Gumi said looking at me.
"I-I guess so, but we'll have to return straight home, okay Gumi-kun?" I said and she nodded holding my hand.
"You promise?" she asked and I nodded ever so slightly. A tingle went up my spine. I have a bad feeling about this 'Circus'.
