You Are My Sunshine Team Astrid

Lana was floating. Both literally and emotionally. She was drifting silently, smiling like a love-sick schoolgirl. She hated it, but she couldn't help it.

Sanjit loved her.

He'd whispered the words, even an hour later they echoed inside her head. They'd been laying in each other's arms, and he confessed. Lana had never felt this way before. The pure rush of emotions were alien to her.

"I love you... you're my light in dark." Lana blushed to herself. Was she being silly? Overreacting?

No.

Of course she'd had boyfriends who'd claim their love for her, and she would repeat the words back. But that was different.

Sanjit was... genuine. And funny, and smart, and cute, and considerate, and caring, and utterly silly, and romantic, and-

Lana doubted the list could end.

She was living in a night-mare, horror infested dome. People stopped saying things to be traditional, everyone meant what they said to some degree. So Sanjit loved her.

And for once Lana felt completely at ease. The FAYZ was quiet, as if it wanted Lana to feel perfect. Everything would be okay, no matter what gore she had to witness then fix, or how often Patrick looked at her with his trusting eyes that pleaded they go home and play fetch in the park, the way they used to every Saturday. No, right now she do anything.

Because she loved him too.

And she'd told him.

Because the truth was, if she was a light for Sanjit, he was a sun. A warm, ball of light that made sure you knew which way was up.

But that's Sanjit for you.
