Emma Naylor had always felt as if her mother didn't have time for her, unless it was about her studying. She'd had that many different babysitter's that she'd lost count of just how many she'd had. Now she was eleven, she hoped things would change.

Jac Naylor had just finished an incredibly complex heart procedure. As she signed off for the evening, she didn't know about the late night mail coming through the letterbox.

Emma was bored. She was extremely bored. Her mother had promised her that she would be back hours ago to cook dinner. Emma was too short to reach the cupboard where the food was kept. A envelope addressed to someone with green ink flew through the door. Curious, Emma picked it up. It was addressed to her. She turned the letter over. A glorious ruby red stamp that said Hogwarts on sealed the letter. Emma knew that this was a brand new start.
