A/N: This is a gift fic written for alixxblack who met the Goals and Rewards Requirement during Round 5 of The Houses Competition.

You did amazing and you should be really proud, I hope this meets what you were expecting. I enjoyed writing this piece as it was something new, I've never really written a Luneville fic before, so it was a really fun to try something new.

To say that it was raining outside would be a very large understatement. The thunder that was booming outside the walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was deafening, so loud it would cause first years to jump as they walked down the halls to get to their next classes.

Neville Longbottom, a second year in Gryffindor was walking down the halls to get to his Herbology lesson when an especially loud burst of thunder split the silent hallway. He jumped back in a mixture of shock and fright, bumping into someone behind him and causing them both to fall onto the ground. Neville stayed frozen on the ground for a second longer, he had always been scared during thunderstorms, although he didn't know why they just terrified him.

A hand reaching out towards him snapped him out of his terrified trance, his gaze travelled up the person's arm. They had blue robes, which meant they were a Ravenclaw, he wondered faintly if this student thought he was foolish. It was a girl, he concluded when he reached the face of the student standing before him. She had long curly hair that was very blonde, her eyes were gentle and she wore a small smile on her face as she looked down at him.

"Do you not want me to help you off the ground?"

"No-No I'm sorry, thank you for helping me. I'm sorry I jumped into you." He took her hand and stood up, starting to shake her hand once he was back upright. To his surprise she brought him into a hug, he hugged back hesitantly, confusion washing over his entire body.

"I'm Luna Lovegood," Was all she said as she pulled away from the hug, he noticed that her voice held an airy quality to it. She almost seemed lost in her own world, despite the conversation she was trying to have with him.

"Neville, Neville Longbottom. I'm really sorry but I have to go to Herbology." Luna let out a tinkling laugh and linked her arms with his.

"I'll walk with you till we get there, I have a free period right now and I've been meaning to tell someone about the nifflers that live in my dorms."

Neville didn't know what nifflers were, but Luna seemed nice, and having company as he walked down the halls would be much better than walking alone. Neville listened to Luna go on and on about nifflers and what they were doing in her dorm, it interested him more than he thought it would. The two departed as Neville stepped into the greenhouse, slightly surprised that it was still raining. After all, he could've sworn it had stopped when Luna was talking with him. He smiled faintly, because even if it was only for a little while...

Luna had made him forget about his fear.
