She took the last steps leading to the doorstep. The wind was blowing through her long raven hair, making her grab her head to prevent her hat from flying with it. "I'm not

getting burned today," Marceline muttered to herself. With that she opened the door to the Treehouse, her red ax-base in hand. Marceline sat on the dirty floor, pulled down her

base, and started to play a simple tune. "La la da da da…" She paused. "Damn writer's block," she said gritting her teeth. Marceline clutched her base tight at the neck and stood

up. She then walked all over the Treehouse. After a few hours of pacing back and forth, she began to play again.

Da da da da, I told you that I'm not cold,

That I'm a thousand years old,

And that I just lost my moral code…

Marceline had to stop and remember that day. She had evicted them after finding them in her treehouse, but later let them stay since they interested her. She picked up with:

I blame it on ol' father time,

But maybe I'd just lost my mind,

I swear that I still have a soul; baby,

*Dramatic chord change*

Maybe I'm just like my dad,

Maybe I'm the devil herself,

I swear I'm not that psychopath

So blame it on Ol' father time…

Then Marceline struggled with the next few line.

Would I still be here right now,

If never saved me from myself,

I once told that everything stays

But you're both proof that it isn't true…

Marceline then stopped her song. "500-years later and I still can't put it into the right words," She said. "Well, as long I don't forget about them, maybe I won't lose myself

again," She said out loud in the decaying house. "I've got all the time in the world," Marceline said forcing a smile.
