After all the phone calls (which had eventually stopped being accepted), after all the begging, and the letters, his mother was finally picking him up.
And only because camp was over.
Ron sat in the backseat of the car and only looked at his mother when she asked him how camp was. Realizing her mistake and how the question could be answered by the numerous phone calls, the drive was silent there for.
It had been the worse summer of his life – for he doubted any could possibly be worse. With poison ivy (continuously, though he had eventually learned), having to duck from the fruit thrown at him, along with the arrows (why did they teach archery anyways?). Then there was the toxic lake that he had luckily got out of swimming in (he never did see Gil again), and then that Chimp for his roommate. That had to be the worst, he was now terrified of monkeys because of it.
As the car slowed to a stop, Ron looked up, his trademark smile appearing on his face at the sight of Kim standing in front of his house, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Yes, it had been the worst summer of his life, and though he wouldn't admit it for years later, it was not because of all of the things that occurred while he was at the camp, though that in itself was bad enough.
No, it was because he had to spend a summer away from Kim.
Don't really no what to call this. I really wouldn't call it a one-shot. Maybe a drabble? I'm not really sure what that is......whoever gives me a definition of it (got no where on the internet) gets a virtual cookie.
Anyways, trying to expand my writing abilities, so I'm trying to write people besides originals and HP where I can create their character. Don't know, I think my History project gave me the idea...I had to take the part of a person in WWI and write a letter to somebody, and I had to write like them. Anyways, hope you like, and I want the definition!
