Draco loves Hermione.
Hermione loves Draco.
Simple, right?
Not at all.
Draco was expected to be top of his class, be the best quidditch player out there, and marry some pureblooded bimbo.
Hermione was expected to study, read, help Harry and Ron with their homework, and eventually fall into Ron's arms with a girlish sigh.
There was one problem, though.
They didn't want to live the lives planned out for them.
They didn't want to be who everyone expected them to be.
They wanted to prove everyone wrong, and be who they are.

When they first met up together with the intention of being romantic,
They where truly happy for the first time. There where no expectations for anything.
Months passed with them being together.
Blaze and Pansy thought that Draco had found a new "conquest".
Harry and Ron thought Hermione was studying, like always.
They were worried.
What would his friends think?
What would her friends think?
They continued like this, until they finally snapped.
/:\
When they snapped, it was in the middle of a stand-off between the Slytherins and the Gryffindors.
Draco snapped first, and he said, "You know what? I'm tired of this expectation of fighting between Slytherin and Gryffindor. I can't even kiss my girlfriend in public!" And he walked right up to Hermione and kissed her. She was surprised for but a moment, and then she kissed him right back.
/:\
Their friends were beyond shocked.
They didn't expect this.
Not at all, but there they were, kissing like they wouldn't be able to anymore.
When they stopped, everyone was gapping, open-mouthed. Then Luna (who, for some reason, was at the fight today) started clapping. Soon most of the Slytherins and Gryffindors where clapping, too. Ginny had screamed "It's about bloody time!"
Ron and Harry weren't happy, but they clapped anyway, because Hermione was happy. They'd make the obligatory death threats later.

The expectations of Lucius Malfoy were not so easily broken. He was shocked and outraged. He set Draco up with many pureblooded bimbos, to try to change his mind. He only stopped when Draco threatened to stop being a Malfoy altogether (he still needed and heir, blood traitor or not).
/:\
So, of course, they ended up proving everyone wrong, and being who they are. To this day, they are happily raising their children together.

A/N: well, there you have it! My next drabble. I apologize for any OOC-ness, and still hope you like it.
Writing this was... weird. I started out thinking that I was going to have the war in here, but I ended up disregarding everything passed the first book. Whoops. Ah well, bye!
