Hi everyone! This is one of my many attempts at writing something for the SM fandom - I haven't published the others...yet. One day though...I still have a lot of other stories to finish though...

It's just a small one as well - just a lil one shot...Lemme know what you think :)

Hope you enjoy!

Browsing through her local bookshop, Serena was looking at all the different books, wanting something new and exciting to catch her eye. Being an avid reader, she frequented the book store often, and since completing the top 100 books of all time, has run out of books to read. Not really knowing where to start, seeing as there's no more list to follow, she moved through the displays looking at covers and reading blurbs. After awhile, every book was beginning to read like the last; whether it was about a depressed person who finds hope or girl meets boy. Moving away from the fiction section, Serena thought to check out the autobiography books and read something completely different. However, as she turned the corner to head towards those shelves a familiar mop of black hair caught her attention instead.

After watching him for a few moments, her mind registered that it was definitely him; the same black hair; regal profile, muscular build and excellent posture. Darien Shields was in her bookshop. Having not seen him for the past two years, she figured he had left town, but clearly he was in town, unless he never left and they clearly didn't bump into each other as often anymore.

Gasping loudly and dropping the books she was holding, Serena covered her mouth in shock. The noise of the books crashing to the floor grabbed his attention. Turning around, he saw her standing there with scattered books at her feet and a shocked look on her half covered face. Placing his book back on the shelf, he walked towards her. Stopping in front of mess, he bent down and picked up the books; holding them in front of him to hand back to her, however, she was too frozen to do anything.

Finally shaking off the trance she was in, Serena took the offered books. She smiled at him weakly in thanks, whereas he gave her a bright smile which even reached his eyes. Biting her lip nervously, she waited for the tormenting comments or quick witted remarks. However, was strangely disappointed when they didn't happen and he simply turned away and returned to his book. Obviously he did not recognise her. 'I haven't changed that much in two years, have I?' Serena thought to herself.

Relaxing her breathing and calming herself down, Serena turned and quickly walked away, heading towards the cashier. Paying for her books, she wanted to get out of the store quickly before anything else happened. As she was gathering her bags, ready to depart the store, she felt something brush against her back. Frozen, she waited with baited breath. Suddenly, the same oriental wood scented aftershave filled her senses once again and a warm breeze passed by her neck. Anticipation was mounting, along with an eruption of emotions she thought she got rid of, until all of five minutes ago. Afraid to move, she waited for the revival of her teenage tormenter.

"You're more beautiful than I remembered, Meatball Head"

Then the heat from his breath and body was gone. Blushing profusely, Serena turned around just in time to see Darien walk through the door, but before being carried away by the passing crowd, he too turned around and smirked wickedly at her whilst giving her a wink.

Biting her lip once again, she grinned madly as the thought that he did recognise and remember her, filled her with the happy memories she had of them arguing through high school.
