A Rose's Thorn

Disclaimer: I don't own and Phantom of the Opera (no matter how nice it is to think about!)

THIS IS A PARODY!!!!!!

Christine watched fearfully as Eric's eyes flashed wildly. Why was he doing this? Raoul was done struggling with the lasso that in circled his throat. He would either be released or...

"Make your choice!" Eric snapped at her, with the mask gone he looked like a wild animal from the zoo, his graying hair was in disarray.

Christine let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding. Did she want to live with him? This... this monster? Or did she want to be free? Free to roam and pick her own husband.

It was then that she made her choice. No one should have to die here... and life with Eric would be alright. He'd love her just as much as Raoul would... it might even be better! Only time could tell.

Eric's stomach did a wild flip as he watched Christine approach him. She didn't look mad, as he had presumed and therefore prepared himself for it. Instead, she looked at him...

Compassionately.

Compassionately?

The Phantom was shocked to his heart as Christine pulled him into a hug, and kissed him fully, and passionately, on his disfigured lips. His mind seemed to come to it's senses at the fire coming from the young woman. What on Earth was he thinking? Was he about to make Christine a saviour or a murderer? His beautiful little flower?

Christine stumbled backwards as Eric pushed her away. There was a strange glint in his eyes... and it was not the maniacal one that had been there only minutes before. It had been replaced by one of resignation. She watched as Eric cut the rope and Raoul fell limply to the ground before scrambling up and grabbing her slim wrist.

"Leave me here... take the boat..." Eric said, listlessly. "Take her... go now, don't let them find you."

Christine stared at her Angel in shock. He was letting her go! But... she didn't want to go, not anymore. The kiss had made her realize one very important thing.

She loved Eric.

Christine stepped forward, fully intending to go and stay with her saviour. She was completely oblivious to the Mob's angry voices chanting into the cavern. Raoul tugged on her wrist and pulled her over towards the get away boat. No! She didn't want to leave.

"Eric!" Christine shouted, trying to pull free of Raoul, who was urging her to come swiftly. "I don't want — "

"No! Leave me here. Go now!" Eric didn't think that he could take much more of this... his heart was already crumbling to dust. "GO NOW AND LEAVE ME!"

Raoul jerked her hand, urgently whispering at her, "Christine, please... let's get out of here." But she would have none of it, pulling her hand away, Christine ran over to the Phantom and frantically threw her arms around his neck.

"I love you, Eric." Christine whispered, as his eyes went wide in shock. "Let me stay with you!"

Eric pulled back and took Christine's hand, tugging the little golden ring off her finger. He turned towards the burning fireplace and threw it in, as Christine watched on in shock.

Just a little something! Hehehehehe... this has GOT to be the worst Parody EVER! Sorry about the 'k' and 'c' in Erik.... I just couldn't resist!
