He had survived. No one had expected him to, not even himself. No, that wasn't true. Ron and Hermione told him he would. They'd said, after he defeated Voldemort, they'd all go to the Three Broomsticks and have a butterbeer to celebrate their victory.
So, here he was butterbeer in hand. Voldemort was dead and he'd survived, just like they said he would. 'How could you've doubted it, mate?' he could hear Ron say, Hermione give Ron one of her glances that made Ron blush.
He could see it. The only problem was he had made it.
But they hadn't.
