I wondered what would happen if Romeo ever met up with the Red Whirlwind/Odin in between their first meeting and the Rose Ball. And so, this odd thing was born. I guess I kind of like RomeoxOdin somewhat, even if I know Odin is really Juliet anyway.
Obviously I own nothing, or I would not write such weird things. Enjoy.
"I heard your name is Odin..?" The blue-haired noble let the sentence trail at the end, as if it were a question.
The red-clad figure gave a gasp and whirled around. "Wh-who? I mean oh, it's you," he muttered, looking half relieved, half annoyed. Romeo guessed the annoyance was due to being badly startled.
"Yes, it's me," the noble agreed patiently. "So you are Odin, right?"
"Ermm," the youth fidgeted, "that's, well... I'm-"
"The Red Whirlwind, yes, but you have another name too."
A suspicious look settled over the usually-mild features. "Who told you this?"
Romeo nearly laughed. "It's common sense."
"No, my name," scowled the other, looking hard-put to contain slight amusement.
"The day I caught you, with Cielo. A boy called your name at the end of our talk. If I remember correctly, he called you 'Odin.'"
The boy let his shoulders slump in defeat. "Alright, yes. What is it to you?"
"Nothing, really."
Odin gave a puzzled look. Romeo doubted that he'd have anything different running through his mind from what was on his face, and if that was correct he'd probably be asking sometime soon why the noble was searching for him. Or stalking him. Whichever.
He lifted a hand to halt the unasked questions. "Before you ask, Cielo found you. I let him follow his nose wherever he would, and thus we meet again."
"Oh." Odin relaxed.
"He's attracted to the scent of irises."
"Erm."
"Um, yes, I did notice that too, that time. You were sitting directly in front of me, after all," for some reason he felt a need to clarify.
"Ah well..." The boy now looked acutely uncomfortable, perhaps embarrassed even.
"It's not weird, okay?" the noble hurried to say. "If you have a connection with irises, that's not something to be embarrassed about."
I am so bad at this, he groaned inwardly, seeing the quizzical look he was receiving.
Odin smiled for once. "You do too," he mused. "And here I thought all the nobles were into roses. They're flashier, aren't they?"
"Stronger smelling," Romeo said dismissively.
"Speaking of nobles," Odin twitched with the realization. "I have a few to scatter! Before I get caught by Conrad, anyway." He turned to leave.
"You could get in trouble like that." He wondered vaguely why he cared.
The Red Whirlwind grinned over his shoulder at the blue-haired noble. "Perhaps that's why I do it."
Said noble stared in a startled manner, only realizing he should close his mouth about ten seconds later. By that time, Odin was gone.
As was the scent of irises. Romeo smiled foolishly at Cielo, not noticing a light thudding within his chest. "Well done, Cielo. We've made a friend of him, I'm sure of it."
The pegasus nickered in response, rubbing his face against his human's tunic.
