"I could watch you for a lifetime. I can't take my mind off of everything you do, and girl, you do it well. Every outfit you wear only brings out the radiance of your beauty and you shine like a goddess from beyond the stars and the twin moons. I truly believe you were sent to Gaia from the gods as a gift to man and an example of what a woman should be. Tearing my eyes from your body is nearly impossible. I want to always be surrounded by you.

But you are so much more than just a pretty face. Throughout our travels together I have learned so much about you, my love. I watched you grow from a timid young princess who knew nothing of the world around her into a compelling queen seasoned in her quest for the truth of her origin. And even though the death of your adoptive mother, the destruction of your kingdom, and the discovery of your ancestry caused you to lose your voice I still found a formidable strength in you; a force to be reckoned with. Nothing can break you.

If I think about my future all I can see is you. I hope that you're with me at the end because after this battle there's no telling what kind of future we'll have. Win or lose, you'll still have me. I'll never leave you no matter what happens… because I love you. You mean everything to me. You are my angel."

Garnet feels for Zidane's hand in the darkness and grasps it. Squeezing as tight as she can and trying not to cry, she replies softly, "I love you."

Zidane grips her hand just as tight as an eerie white light flows around them in cool swimming ribbons. A voice booms from the heavens as their bodies begin to fade away.

"Why defy your fate?"

I wrote this mostly as brain fudge. Some of the inspiration I got was from listening to Gary Go's original version of Cinema. I absolutely love Gary Go and was pleased to hear this song. A cinema to the cast of FF9 is really like a play that Tantalus puts on and they seem to be very dramatic and emotional. Exactly how Zidane feels about Garnet.

If you don't get the last line of this very short piece than don't let me spoil it for you! Think "end game" for your answer.

Credit really goes to Gary Go for this one and of course SquareEnix for making such an amazing game. It has been the source of my obsession for years.
