Hello! I'm having a lot of fun with one shots today lol. For those of you who haven't read my Two Brothers and a Younger Sister story, Brynn is a character I made up. She's pretty cool. And she's Fili and Kili's little sister.

Kili had just gotten back from an afternoon of working with Thorin in the blacksmith shop. His uncle had trained him and Fili, and even Brynn sometimes, to be skilled in the way of working metal. He wished to instill the morals of hard work in his niece and nephews, and that as royalty they were never above getting their hands dirty. And, of course, they needed to make money for themselves and other struggling displaced Ereborians living in the Blue Mountains.

Kili stopped in front of Brynn's door. There was another girl in there; Faya, if he had heard correctly. She was one of Brynn's few friends. Normally Kili would not eavesdrop on Brynn, for he knew that was exactly what he was doing, but he heard something too startling to ignore.

"He's pretty tall for a dwarf. And he's good looking too." Brynn said.

Kili nearly fainted on the spot. Fainted or threw up. Brynn had a… boy? That couldn't happen, she was too young. Certainly, other girls her age were courting, but thirteen was too young for Brynn. As a matter of fact, any age was too young. He didn't trust any of the dwarf boys her age. He wasn't ready for this. Mahal, he wasn't ready. This was too much. This was -

Kili quietly ran away as he heard footsteps coming towards the door. Brynn and Faya left her room, heading for the door. Kili followed.

"I'll see you tomorrow then?" Brynn asked.

"Yes. But I must go now or mother will have a fit." Faya grinned, showing she wasn't worried about the idea.

Brynn laughed. "It's alright, you can just blame me!"

"Will do." Faya nodded and bounced out the door.

Brynn had barely shut the door and turned around before Kili was in front of her.

"Oh. Hello Kili, I didn't know you were home." Brynn went to step around him but he followed, keeping her still.

"Who is he?" Kili asked.

Brynn thought hard about what he could possibly be talking about, but she fell short. Most days her and her brothers were able to communicate with so few words it was like they were mind linked. Other days, she couldn't follow them for a second. "What do you mean? Who?"

Kili was clearly frustrated. "Never mind. I will find him and I will kill him." He dodged his sister and grabbed his coat, making to leave.

Brynn grabbed him by the arm. She wasn't about to let him walk out the door with those words on his lips. "Kili, what are you talking about? Who are you going to kill?"

"Your lover!" Kili spat the words out as if they were distasteful.

Brynn had to agree with the sentiment. Her face pulled into confusion. "My – my lover? Brother, I do not have one."

Now it was Kili's turn to look confused. "But I heard you talking about him to Faya. Tall and good looking."

Brynn burst out laughing, making Kili even more confused, if that was possible. "That is what you get for listening to conversations you were not invited to! Kili, Faya and I were talking about Sora's boy."

"Oh." Kili said, slightly embarrassed and yet relieved.

Brynn sobered slightly, taking Kili's coat and hanging it up, now that he didn't need to murder some poor boy. "If I was courting someone, they would have to have your approval first. I would not keep it a secret from you.

Kili smiled. "Well, that's good to hear, darling."

Brynn stretched her arm over Kili's shoulders, leading him towards the kitchen. "Let's make dinner for mama. She and Fili should be back soon."

That sounded to Kili like a much better way to spend his time than murdering someone. The day would come, he was sure, when Brynn would fall in love with someone. He just hoped it wasn't anytime soon.

Thank you all for reading it! Reviews are very welcome. :)
