A New Year- A Jouren One-Shot.
I just read some spoilers regarding Joey and Lauren over Christmas/New Year and I came up with this scene in my head. I would actually die if this happen. I really would. I dedicate this to all my amazing twitter friends 3
Lauren couldn't remember her family ever being this broken. Her parents were barely talking, her sister hated her and her uncle was dead, murdered with a suspect list as long as her arm. Lauren knew her part in this. She had let emotions get in the way then turned to drink to shut them out. It was vicious circle.
It was 45 minutes to a brand new year and Lauren was hoping 2013 would be a much better year than 2012 as she sat in her bedroom window, looking out because Lauren had been grounded after trashing her parents wedding and had barely left her bedroom in days. Lauren had hated what her life had come to but in the past few weeks, she had been to hell and back. She and her cousin, Joey, had fallen in love with each other only for him to break her heart in order to protect her and prevent her from going to prison. This made Lauren angry because her Uncle Derek had arranged this and her mother was in on it. It hurt Lauren that her family would rather see her heartbroken and in pain then in prison because she knew which one she would prefer. Then before Lauren could tell Joey that she knew the truth, he had left and his phone behind too so Lauren had no way of contacting him and she feared she would never see him again.
After a trip to the bathroom, Lauren thought about getting ready for bed when she received a text from her cousin, Alice.
Joey's back. I thought you should know. A x
Lauren gasped as she read the text, feeling excited and scared at the same time. She smiled as she re read the text and decided it was time for a jailbreak but Lauren wanted to look nice before she went. She changed into her best jeans, put her boots on, quickly applied make up and grabbed her coat and bag. She sneaked past her parents watching TV downstairs. Lauren saw Abi was asleep as she quietly left the house and that's when she started her hunt for Joey.
Lauren's mission to find him was failing. She tried the swings, the square, the Vic and she couldn't find him anywhere. Lauren checked her watch. It was nearly midnight. She quickly decided she would return home and try again the morning but as Lauren walked through the market, she saw Joey walking in the direction of the pub. She shouted his name as he turned and looked at her.
"I heard you were on house arrest" Joey told her, walking towards her, laughing.

"I guessed I escaped" Lauren replied, also walking towards him.
"Well that's not clever, your parents are going to kill you" Joey said, still walking towards her

"I like a challenge" Lauren laughed, she was near him, just a few more steps. She was praying he wouldn't run away.

"That's funny so do I" Joey replied, as he reached her and stopped.

"Joey, I know. I know the truth. Mum told me"

"Lauren, I'm so sorry. I did what I thought was best. I love you. I never stop"

"That's good because I love you too"
And on 1, as 2013 said hello, Joey pulled Lauren close to him and kissed her passionately, not caring who say them. He pulled away but rested his forehead on hers.
"Happy New Year, Lauren"
"Happy New Year, Joey"
And on that, they kissed again.
Okay, if something like that happens for real, I will scream my TV.
