Déjà Vu

Chapter 1: Ghosts

Time was such a fickle thing, Bumblebee mused as his digits tapped incessantly on the bridge controls of Omega Supreme. One breem he'd been on Earth, the next he was waking up two million stellar cycles later. Yes time was definitely fickle. Fate was also probably laughing her head off right about then. But no more. He had an idea, more than that he had the means to set things right.

He rose from the command chair and walked down the old familiar hallways and paused when he reached the store room. The same room where they had stored the All Spark when they had first found it. Forcefully, he put the memories out of his processor. Now was not the time to be waxing sentimental. He had more important things to do.

He waited until the sliding doors had opened then stepped through, ignoring the fact that they didn't completely closed but stayed half-open. He was used to Omega Supreme needing repairs all the time. Unfortunately he didn't have the time or the materials needed to fully repair the old ship, thus leading to Omega's half-repaired state. He could almost hear Ratchet's voice in his auditory sensors, "And just what do you think you're doing, not fixing Omega Supreme? He's not just a ship, he's an old friend. You hurt him, you're going to have to answer to me!"

"I know, Ratchet," he said without thinking. "I promise as soon as the device is complete I will fix Omega, ok?" he muttered the side of the ship consolingly as he stepped down into the dark chamber. The lights down here didn't work very well but he compensated for it for turning on his headlights, the bright light illuminating the darkness and momentarily chasing away the shadows.

His optics brightened at the sight of the innocent looking device sitting in the middle of the room.

"Well," he said as he ran a digit along its sleek metal sides. "Just a little longer and then I promise that I will put you to good use." With that he carefully re-adjusted the thermal blanket over it then dimmed his headlights and made his way towards the door where a sliver of light shone.

Once outside the room he pulled the doors closed and felt a chill run up his spine. When passing through an area of dead space such as this with no stars and the lights acting funny it always unnerved Bumblebee but he couldn't say why. He had faced up to Megatron with less fear than now. Of course, he reflected, megatron hadn't been full of ghosts. That's what was wrong with Omega now, he was haunted by the ghosts of those who had come before and passed on, leaving nothing but a shadow behind; a shadow that took up residence in these halls and that tormented Bumblebee to no end no matter how much he tried to appease them.

"Just a few more joors," he whispered to the darkened corridor as he made his ways towards his quarters. "Just a few more joors and we can all be free."

He made his way to his quarters and once inside stretched on the berth and slipped into recharge, leaving the ship and its ghosts behind to face the demons of his mind.

A/N: Sorry for making this chapter so short but the next chapter is going to be longer (I hope) and will star Jazz and maybe one of my OCs or two. Maybe.

A/N/N: 2 reviews for this chapter and the next one and then 3 for the rest of the story.
