After months of trying she was looking at the positive pregnancy test. She happily told everyone. Logan warned her to be careful, but she had nothing to be careful for.
Two months she was only four months along and heading to the lab for her check up when she suddenly whimpered, clutching at her stomach. She slid to the floor and started to sob. Once the pain pasted she stood and continued on her way.
She lay on the metal table as Jean checked her over.
"Rogue, I can't find the heartbeat." Jean said. "Have you had any pains?"
"Yes, just before I came here." Rogue replied not noticing the way Jean had reached to touch her only to draw away.
"Rogue, your mutation seems to have returned, I think you lost the baby." Jean said, concealing tears.
The young woman slowly processed the words before rushing away. Sobs that can only come from a heart broken person echoed throughout the school and not even Bobby could comfort the distraught woman, who had realized she would never carry her own child.
