Things are better in Auto
Celesta SunStar
I have no rights or claims on Transformers in movie, book, or other formats; and likewise for Fullmetal Alchemist. I'll try to return them mostly unharmed.
This is a teaser for me as well. I do hope to continue and I do have some ideas. This has just been sitting on my hard drive for awhile and I thought I should do something about it.
Do let me know what you think. I appreciate feedback.
Jazz smirked a bit as he tweaked a calibration setting. For such an inventive species, humans still needed to work a bit on their mechanical engineering, but at least they had a sense of style… for some things anyway. He hadn't had to alter the outside frame at all. It was handy of the humans to have a crude GPS system in place for directions, since their road systems were illogical. He supposed that creativity had to have other outlets other than their fascinating forms of music. Another programming change made the GPS compatible with the more exact positioning of Cybertronian systems, which meant that the rendezvous point would be… Ah, there. In accordance with local traffic laws he signaled, Inefficient method of communication, before turning onto a narrow, one way street that would place him on a faster main road.
And stopped.
Granted, there was a great deal he was looking forward to learning about these shorter lived organics, but Jazz was pretty sure that standing squarely in the middle of the road in front of a speeding car was not the way for a human to remain in the land of the functioning. Curious, he let his scanners investigate.
Male, a bit on the shorter side of the registered human average, heart rate and breathing above registered normal, more in line with those recorded from extended physical activity, Ratchet's gonna like these medical websites, wait a click... The human had a prosthetic arm and leg with none of the odd Cybertronian echoes that Bumblebee had reported about Earth technology.
While Jazz was debating with himself about what exactly he was going to do with this information, (and the human,) it spoke.
"Cars, in general, do not drive themselves. Those that do, use closed test courses with smart strips embedded in the road, don't exceed 30 miles an hour, and definitely don't stop in an estimated 3 feet when detecting an obstacle. And the cars they do use aren't Pontiac Solstices." Primary language, English. The human went quiet, waiting for something. Jazz decided to stay just as quiet, relatively speaking. "There was a meteor that came down just east of here, roughly ten minutes ago, so something makes me doubt that you were put together here on Earth." Jazz still did nothing. The human crossed his arms, "I have nothing else more important to do, so I could wait here all night. But since I saw four meteors in a very close formation come down at the same time, I don't think you have the same leeway."
Style, gotta love it. Jazz flicked open the driver side door, "What are you waitin' for then, an invitation?" The human wasted no time in taking the offer, prompting an internal grin. Hey Optimus, found a human, can I keep him? "Call me Jazz," he told the human as he closed the door and accelerated down the alley. The human clicked the seat belt.
"Edward Elric, call me Ed."
