Once upon a time there was a beautiful lady named Kyoko. Lady Kyoko lived a fairy tale life, but not in a good way. Her father had died when she was young and her mother truly hated the child, so she was always alone. Her only friends were a fairy she had met when she was 6 years old and a frog prince she had saved when she was just a wee baby, a week after having met the fairy, Corn, he disappeared. He had gone back to the fairy world, leaving Kyoko behind.

16 years later, Lady Kyoko and her frog prince, Sho, decided to run away to the nearby kingdom of Tokyo so Sho could become a minstrel. Lady Kyoko labored faithfully for many weeks to support her prince. But then one day Kyoko found out that Sho only saw her as a maid and vowed that she would become the best known actor on the continent of Japan, for an actor is the only person who could compete with a minstrel.

While trying to become an actor Kyoko met a knight named Ren. Even though they didn't get along at first Ren soon fell in love with the kind, beautiful princess. He had a secret that had helped lead him to loving her, he was the reincarnation of the fairy Corn, and he remembered the little girl from so long ago. But sadly Kyoko couldn't see that Ren loved her.

So with the of a wise owl name Yoshiro, a black witch named Maria, a couple of fairy maidens named Kanae and Chiori, and a mad man named Lory, Ren underwent trials to prove his love and defeat the frog prince Sho(who had realized he still loved Kyoko). First Ren had to find the lost jewel of Princess Rosa. Second he had to save Kyoko from the evil Lord Rieno. Then he had to help stop the demon Mio and subdue the enchantress Natsu. After that he had to find the Corn Stone, a magical stone that the fairy Corn had gifted Kyoko with when they had first met. Finally he had to hide Kyoko from her evil mother by pretending he was Cain Heel and she was his adorable sister Setsuka.

Finally after all his trouble Ren told Kyoko who he really was. How he had been Corn in another life and how he had been reborn, not as Sir Ren, but as Prince Koun to-be-ruler of all of Japan. At first this all shocked Kyoko and she ran away, leaving Ren in misery. But after Kyoko overcame all this new information Kyoko returned, having realized that Ren, no Koun, truly did love her.

And they all lived Happily Ever After (with the exception of Sho, Rieno, and Kyoko's mother, that is).
