Angel in disguise She lives up to her name

One Shot

Set after Constantine. John's POV Angela proves to be the woman John's been wanting…and needing.

Disclaimer: If I did own the characters enlisted in my fiction, then I can tell you I wouldn't be here writing about the disclaimer. I'd be rubbing shoulders with actors and actresses such as Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz & Carrie-anne Moss. (Imagine) –Faints-

As I stare at the window about three or four centimetres apart from my body, I can see the sun has risen to where it's always placed from the beginning of time with the blue skies and white breathless clouds. Los Angeles is already swarmed with busy people ready to start the day. Adults, older adults, children, parents, some holding their cell phones and briefcases, others just walking along the streets while people in their cars are beeping their horns, a sign that life has been full of hectic hours, even in the early morning, while I sit here searching for a cigarette in my pants pocket. My search closes to an end when I finally find what I'm searching for…except it's not it. I find a packet of nicotine gum. Angela did say she transferred all my fags into the bin and replaced them with gum. I shove a piece of it into my mouth anyway. My breath condensates onto the glass and I touch it with my finger, searching for some piece of evidence, some what like Angela was doing when I demanded her to find a piece of evidence to find reasons why her sister committed suicide.

But this was different; I'm searching for my inner-sole thinking things through. Is it true that I love an Angel in disguise? My thoughts and dreams are re-occurring, the same ones rushing and pumping through my head. At the same time I think these thoughts, her smile breaks through, telling my conscious that everything will be ok. A door opening is heard, so I swiftly move my head in the direction of the door. The door opening is the entrance is my bedroom and there she stands brushing her hair back with her hand while smiling at me. I smile back, feeling my cheeks going red, but why am I having these moments? Before I met her I was nothing like this. Rude, stubborn, rather selfish and un witty but perhaps now I've changed for the better. I turn my glance again towards the window. Déjà vu I thought to myself, because only a few months back, I sat here, drowning my sorrows with the bottles of beer I glanced at and somehow poured into a glass and drunk, very solemnly. I got pissed as usual and spent half of the next morning throwing up. Angela had changed me in someway unexpected. When I first saw her I expected trouble as most cops are, well from what I know. Their footsteps are never far behind when I experience events such as I did when mammon tried to enter earth. That's an experience I do want to forget.

So many things to tell her and such little time. My eyes are still fixed to the window and she notices that.

''What's the matter?'' She said, yawning while doing so.

''Nothing'' I replied, still applying my gaze.

I turned my head so I could face her. She was still in her teddy bear pyjamas.

''I was just thinking'' I pronounced

''Thinking about what?' She replied.

Too be honest, I didn't want her to reply. I was talking to myself, as usual since that's how I liked to keep myself company when I was on my own. Call myself stupid, but it's what I did.

''I'm thinking how much you live up to your name''

I got up from the window Paine and walked towards her.

''Oh yeah?'' She replied.

''Hell yeah'' I said.

As I cuddled her I whispered something in her ear.

''You're an angel in disguise''

And from there, I knew this woman was going to be entered into my life and not forgotten.
