Disclaimer: Of course I don't own anything. This is not at all how I expect the finale to go, but I've been watching way too much "Star Wars" lately and have been driven to write this emotional piece. Sorry .
He grabbed her arm and quickly pulled her into an unattended corridor. Their cover was blown. Even if they didn't know why or how this couple was there, the guards knew they shouldn't be and were coming after them in full pursuit.
"Emma—" he looked at her longingly. Nothing was going to plan. He wanted to protect her, wanted to be the one person to keep her safe after years and years of loneliness….
Her eyes caught his just as a new wave of guards came pounding through the doors.
"I've got this!" Killian yelled, pushing Emma behind him, keeping her safe above all else.
Side by side, they fought of Midas' guard without hardly a thought. It was almost too easy.
They chanced a smile towards the other when they thought the fighting had stopped.
Turns out it was only the beginning.
"Emma! Run! GO!" Killian screamed, as a new onslaught of guards made their way through the door, steel clashing against steel. He knew this was going to be a one-way trip.
"Killian! I can't leave you!" Emma cried, knowing she didn't have a fighting chance if she stayed. The gown she wore was only able to conceal a slight dagger at her ankle that she now wove as terrifyingly as she was capable. It was pathetic really compared to the King's Guard's weapons.
There was a break in the wall. She could jump into the lake if given a chance. It would hurt like hell, but it was the only option.
She tried to catch Killian's eyes, but he was too engaged in his current sword-fight to notice her motion. Killian, please. Look at me. She begged.
He knew.
And he knew he couldn't get there in time.
"EMMA! JUMP!" He screamed, helplessly, "Please!"
"Killian! I can't! Not without you!" she managed through the tears running down her face.
"GO!"
"I love you," she screamed, desperately.
"I know."
It was the last thing she heard from her love's mouth before she jumped into the dark waters below. I know. She just hoped he knew she felt the same in return.
