Chapter 1: Hard Times.
Okay, so I published this on Quotev in 2016 and got about 6 chapters into it before school caught up and I didn't really continue it. I logged back on recently and found that my story had been deleted for whatever reason but luckily I still had the files excluding the prologue. Nothing really happens there anyways. Basically, Voldemort came, he stunned, he got killed by the two twins and Dumbledore proclaims Alex the Boy-who-lived because he had the most power as Lucifer and Artemis had drained all theirs doing it. Anyway, without further adieu, let's get into it.
Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter, that's J.K. Rowling.
[A/N]: I took a lot of inspiration for this story from the fanfiction 'Hogwarts Hybrids' by kellym01.2 and you will definitely notice that if you read it. I also chose the names for Harry and his twin sister to be 'Lucifer Sirius Potter' and 'Artemis Lily Potter'. Anyway, enough talk, lets get on with it.
P.S. Lucifer is the oldest, Artemis is younger by 2 minutes and Alexander is younger by 13 minutes and was born at 12:02 AM on August 1 1980, one day after the twins.
P.P.S. Twincest and Lily/Sirius. If you are offended by incest, don't read this. Although there will be no lemons. The story will focus more on Lucifer/Artemis than Lily/Sirius, but (Lilius? Siry?) will be referenced a lot before they go to Hogwarts.

'Hard Times'
11 September 1988
Artemis sat quietly in her room, brushing her midnight black hair with worry evident in her eye, worry for her twin brother Lucifer James Potter. Her father James was having a fit after he caught Lucifer trying to steal some bread for them both to share as they hadn't been given dinner. Again. Their mother Lily had tried to leave some leftovers for them to eat but their chubby good-for-nothing brother Alex had gobbled it all up. Again. The reason they didn't have dinner with the family was simply because James and Alex didn't like them. James thought they were a waste of space and had even discussed with Lily about putting them up for adoption or simply abandoning them, but Lily had refused and yelled in his face.
"HOW COULD YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT SUCH A THING JAMES, THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR ELDEST CHILDREN AND YOU WANT TO GET RID OF THEM?" She had yelled in his face many more profanities and curses that should never be spoken to the mortal soul again.
"But Lily-Flower think about it. They are corrupting Alex with their dark ways, our precious son should not be around those two dark wizard half-breed monste-"
SLAP
Lily had struck him across the face, and a bright red mark was forming on his left cheek.
"Do not speak to me like that James. If I recall correctly, 50% of the monster in them, that's 100% you and the other 50% is me. So why don't you think very carefully the next time you choose to call our children that." At that, she stormed away, fury radiating around her body.
She left James speechless, and with even more of a burning rage for his eldest children than before. They had turned his Lily-Flower against them, and he would give them his revenge.
She still didn't know what her mum meant by her last statement but she was curious, yet in the 2 years since that, she hadn't brought it up once, only to Luce.
James started to become more harsh to the twins after that night, he would yell and scream at them for the most ludicrous things, like stealing bread for example. He had even started hitting them at one point, although never when Lily was around.
The thought of James' treatment brought Artemis back to reality, her brush was still pulling on her beautiful straight hair. Her looks had mainly come from her mother, with her long silky hair, and emerald green eyes, as well as her body figure and paleness. She had inherited from James her hairs Midnight black colour. A trait that she didn't mind. Lucifer had half James' appearance and half Lily's. He had short black hair like James but it wasn't messy like his, it was more sleek like Lily's. He too, had inherited her emerald green eyes but he had James' muscular body. Even at the age of eight, Artemis thought he looked great.
Bad pun, she thought to herself as she cringed both from the joke and that she had pulled too hard on the brush she for some reason was still using. She set the brush down and organised her hair. She put it so that a bit of her hair was trailing over half of her right eye and got up to go get some parchment and ink. She was going to write a letter to Sirius, Lucifer's godfather. Each of the children had godfathers. All of them from James' old gang back in Hogwarts. Lucifer's was James' best friend Sirius "Padfoot" Black, the heir to the noble and most ancient house of Black. Sirius was fun, he was always cracking jokes and brung the twins presents. Sirius cared more about them than James ever did, and for that they were grateful.
Artemis' was a kind man named Remus "Moony" Lupin. Remus was a werewolf, and this interfered with his social life greatly. He couldn't hold down a job because of his condition and was frequently leaving mid-conversation because he had 'important business to attend to'. The Potters and Sirius all knew that this was really because he felt some primal or wolfish instincts coming along and had to go take some Wolfsbane potion that James' longtime rival and Hogwarts' potions professor Severus Snape brewed for him. Like Sirius, Remus always brung the twins presents and looked after them if Lily wasn't home to watch James around them.
Alex's godfather wasn't talked about at all. Their mother had told the twins that he was an old friend named Peter "Wormtail" Pettigrew and that he was a traitor. That night Alex was proclaimed savior, he had ratted out to Voldemort the location of the Potters as he was their secret keeper. It was originally going to be Sirius but Sirius had convinced them that death eaters wouldn't suspect Peter. Boy were they wrong. When they were about 5, Artemis remembered James telling Sirius that he should replace Wormtail as Alex's godfather. Nothing better than being the godfather of the boy-who-lived after all. Sirius refused however, saying that he loved his godson too much to do that. James was obviously annoyed at that but he didn't press further. Peter was currently rotting away in Azkaban and they were content with that.
She had finished writing her letter and looked it over, reading it aloud in her mind.
Sirius
James is raging at Luce again, this time for getting some bread for the two of us. Sometimes I don't get him. Why does he hate us so much? Aside from the fact that mum always sides with us over him, what did we do? Anyway, enough about us, how are you? Luce will be excited to hear from you, you know how much he loves you. Mum's been alright as well. It's been pretty uneventful with her around, she hasn't needed to go out for a while now. Anyway, excited to hear from you.
With love
Artemis.
Artemis folded the parchment and tied it to the Potter family owl, Lagravis. He was a nasty old thing, always nipping at her and Lucifer. She hated him but it was the only owl available to her. James had an eagle owl named Corvus and Alex had a snowy white owl named Hedwig. She told the bird that it was for Sirius and it flew off, not before biting her finger, drawing blood.
She looked out the window. It was pitch black, she figured that it would be around 11:00 pm by now and decided to get some sleep. Just as she took off her clothes to get changed into her pyjamas, Lucifer walked in.
He looked at her as if nothing was happening, as if she wasn't standing naked in front of him holding her knickers. This was normal for them, they had seen each other naked many times and felt no shame or even the desire to cover it up. One time they even slept together naked as it was a hot summer night and there was no air conditioning in their room.
"How was he?" she asked him, slightly dreading his answer.
"Actually pretty good, Mum was in the next room so he didn't hit me, just yelled." she sighed in relief at this. It always pained her emotionally to know that her brother got physically hurt by their father. Luckily tonight wasn't one of those nights.
"Ready to crash?" His voice shook her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah, just let me get changed." She quickly put her pyjamas on, a t-shirt and shorts, and jumped into their shared bed. Lucifer did the same.
They had always found it difficult to sleep in different beds. Ever since they were babies they insisted on sleeping together. It was their little connection and she liked it.
Her thoughts slowly faded into dreams as she nestled against her older brothers muscular chest and drifted into a relatively peaceful sleep.
12 September 1988
Artemis woke from unconsciousness to find herself still laying on her brother and she stayed still, feeling his heartbeat and moving with the rising and falling of his chest. She lay like that for maybe another hour before she heard Lucifer stir.
"Morning, Luce. Had a good sleep last night?" she asked him, happy for him to be awake but also sad that his awakening had disturbed her resting.
"Yeah pretty good, how 'bout you?" He replied while softly stroking her hair. He leaned down to kiss her on the forehead before she answered his question. She smiled and replied to his question. "Yeah, it was alright". They stayed that way for another half hour, Lucifer holding Artemis in his arms while she snuggled closer to his body.
"We should probably get up and see mum soon, maybe get some breakfast from the house elves before James and Alex get up and eat it all". Lucifer said to her after a while. Artemis agreed and together they got dressed and headed down to the kitchen of Potter Manor to grab some breakfast. Luckily, their mother was already in there cooking with the elves. Lily Potter was raised in the muggle world and as such, didn't grow up with servants to do her bidding. She saw it as a kind of slavery and for a while didn't tell them to do anything when she had first married James. Overtime she grew to understand that the elves enjoy working and doing what their master wished and gradually got used to the idea of ordering them around. Still, she always offered to help them with their work and helping to cook was one of those things she always did.
"Hey mum, anymore food left?". They both asked together. Their mother turned around and gave them each a kiss and a hug and wished them good morning. "I've got some bacon and eggs here, have a seat, I'll get it for you."
"Thanks mum." They both said in unison and moments later Lily brought them their food. As they started to dig in, nothing could prepare them for the day that they were about to have.
Well there you go, this was the first real chapter of my first ever fanfiction. Yay! I hope you liked it. I'm new to the author section of it, I mainly only read on this site. But still, review! Tell me if you liked it or not! It got a few hundred reads on quotev before it got taken down but I wanna see how it does here. I'll be uploading the next 4 chapters soon! See you next time!
