If today was our last day.
...
"Ginny..." Luna whispered.
Ginny's eyes fluttered open to reveal a wide eyed Luna staring back at her.
"Yes Luna?" She smiled.
"I just wanted to ask you something." Luna whispered.
"Then go ahead." Ginny giggled sleepily.
Luna paused for a moment and bit her lip.
"What if today was our last day?"
"What? That's preposterous Luna!" Ginny exclaimed.
Luna frowned and rolled over in the bed.
"Luna... I..."
Come to think of it, the idea of the world ending tomorrow wasn't preposterous at all. Nineteen years ago it almost was their last day.
"Luna..." Ginny whispered as she brushed the dirty blonde hair behind her lover's ear.
"What?" Luna sniffled.
"Do you want to know what I'd do on our last day on earth?"
Luna just lay there.
"Well..." Ginny began as she continued to stroke Luna's hair.
"If it were our last day on earth I think we'd go on a picnic."
"A picnic?" Luna sniffled.
"Yes sweetheart."
Silence lasted only a few seconds.
"Where would we go?" Luna asked curiously.
Ginny paused for a moment.
"How about the forest of Dean? You've always loved the snow. You, Fury and I could all dress warmly in the morning, pack a picnic basket..."
"What would we put in the basket?"
"Well... a blanket of course, some butterbeer and pumpkin juice if you'd like?"
"Could we take both?"
"Of course." Ginny giggled.
"What else?" Luna whispered.
"We could take some bread to the picnic, make sandwiches. We could make those roast potato's you and Fury love so much; you could make jam for our sandwiches, maybe you could teach Fury how to make those biscuits she likes?"
Luna turned to face Ginny with a small smile.
"What would you like to take?" Luna asked.
"Just you. You and Fury are all I need."
Luna quirked an eyebrow.
"Fine. You win! Some honeydukes chocolate would be ah-mazing."
"Is that all sweetheart?" Ginny whispered as she stroked Luna's cheek.
"Not quite." Luna smiled.
With that she leaned forward and kissed Ginny's lips softly before snuggling into her chest.
A few moments later Ginny was fast asleep with a drifting Luna on her chest. Luna was almost in the same place as her lover before she could hear soft, pattering footsteps. She rolled over to gaze upon a tired looking daughter at the door before frowning worriedly.
"What's wrong pumpkin?" Luna whispered.
"What were you and mummy talking about?" Fury asked curiously.
"Did we wake you?" Luna whispered.
Fury shrugged.
"Come to bed and I'll tell you." Luna smiled as she moved from Ginny to make a space for their daughter.
Fury pattered into the room and placed herself between her two mothers before promptly turning to Luna.
"Well..." Luna began in a whisper as she stroked her daughter's red flames.
"Your mother and I were talking about what we'd do if we only had one day."
"One day?" Fury yawned.
"One day to do whatever we wanted together."
"Oh... well what did mummy say?"
"Your mother said she would take us on a picnic." Luna smiled.
Fury considered this for a moment.
"Mom?" She yawned.
"What would you do?" she asked as her eyes flickered.
"Me?" Luna asked.
"Mhhmmm..." Fury mumbled as she closed her eyes.
"I would stay right here with both of you in my arms."
