Mad-Eyed Snoody Chapter 1
Moody's POV
Loneliness does things to a man's mind.
I have been trapped in a suitcase of preposterous proportions for nigh on six months. To me, the outside of this desolate prison is all but forgotten: The bright and hopeful sunrise of the spring morn; the warbling of the birds, the calling of the beasts; even the well-worn lines of my own face; 'tis lost to me now.
O! Woe is me! Woe is me!
It was as I sat in wretched contemplation of my status as Suitcase-Dweller that a miracle did strike. My withered ears, long since given up on hearing aught but the grating tones of my captor, Bart Crouch Jr., did behold the voice of a young boy, spiteful with the fire of youth, screaming really fucking loudly.
"Professor Snape, I hate you!" The boy bellowed. His voice betrayed him – despite his fearsome words, he had clearly not been through puberty. "Imma kill you!"
Next came a voice which clearly had been through puberty, and a considerable amount of time ago. I felt my remaining hair stand on end as the man spake:
"Not today, Potter-boy!"
O, t'was such an heroic and manly voice, so deep and emo, that I did feel my heart flutter at the very sound of it!
"Ahhrghrghh! You helped Voldymort kill my parents! Avardar kedavra!"
The crackling shiver of the killing curse, unmistakable in its intensity and the tension created and the tenseness, whipped through the air like a bullet from a muggle's 'gun'. Fear struck my core – was he whose voice had all but caused me to swoon, truly fated to die at the hands of one who was but a boy? – but the feeling was swiftly replaced with one of relief as the lid of my suitcase was flung open in a truly dramatical style.
I could but gape in awe as a dashing middle-aged man dropped down to my side.
It was… None other than Severus Snape!
A/N: Dedicated to my dear friend Rei Rei, who was the first one to dream up this beautiful pairing. pls read & review!
