Hermione realized that she was different ever since she turned 8. She had always enjoyed books over people, and for that she was ridiculed by her classmates, treated as a social pariah. She knew that the other kids her age liked to play more than read, but she didn't see herself as strange, just more... focused. Then during recess at her primary school, Mary Ellen, the first girl to ever pick on Hermione, took her book and threw it in the mud. Hermione had finally had enough, so when the students lined up at the top of the stairs to go back to class, Mary Ellen fell down the stairs and broke her arm. Everyone thought it was an accident because her shoe was untied. Only Mary Ellen and Hermione knew the truth, that accidents never happen when Hermione is around. Mary Ellen never bothered Hermione again, and Hermione realized how different she was, because even though what she did was righteous, it is satisfying to watch people hurt.

Ron Weasley has gotten use to being invisible, but that doesn't mean he liked it. Overshadowed by his 6 older brothers and ignored by his mother over his baby sister, Ron knew he would never be anything but a shadow, always just a Weasley. Ron knew he was different from his family, he was quiet but not ignorant. He knew how to manipulate his siblings into getting what he want, while making them think it was what they wanted.

Ron knew he wasn't a Weasley, not in the slightest. The sooner his surname left, the better.

Harry Potter was alone and unloved and that's all he ever knew. Harry lived with his aunt and uncle that absolutely abhorred him, and had no qualms about it. They told him about his deadbeat parents, how they left him on their doorstep cause they didn't want him. Then on his 11th birthday, Hagrid came and told him the truth. How his parents died, how Dumbledore left him in a house with people who hated him, about how the whole world loved him because of something he doesn't even remember.

Harry was not happy. Sure the attention was nice, but it wasn't for him. All everyone wanted was to see the scar that Voldemort had left. Harry never hated anyone until he learned of Voldemort. All the people who supposedly were on his side did nothing for him. Harry knew, that one day he would make them all pay, that when Lord Voldemort faced him, he would tremble in fear. And then, he would be free of him.
