You walk in there. It was supposed to be empty. You couldn't see the guard standing behind the wall. Waiting for you. His arm out stretched. Zat in hand.

Now you see him. You try to shoot. Get him before he gets you.

The zat fires and you collapse. He aims the weapon at you try to gain your strength.

You have to stand. You have to move out of the way. The energy from the zat still disables you. And all you can do is lay there looking at the gun.

His grip tightens. He's going to fire again. Two shots kill. And that third. If he kills you you'll never know what happens. What about your team? Will they find you?

You still can't get up. Just have to wait and hope he can't find the courage to shoot a man on the ground.

He can. Youu see the energy blast leave the gun, but you never feel it. You can still feel what's left of the first shot. And ams picking you up. Pulling you to your feet.

You turn your head and see the faces of your team. The attacker lies dead on the floor. A burnt spot on the floor near him shows that someone pushed you away from the shot the would have killed you.

You continue to stare at the scene around you.

"Colonel." One of the says to you. You turn your head.

"Carter?" You respond with a question.

"Yes, sir." She answers. "We're going home." Relief and happiness flood you and you shake your head. You allow them to stay with you, to help you.

You never want to leave your team again.
