"Why do you even worry?" Ron asked. "It's only Harry and Ginny, it's not like Percy or anything."
"Ron," Hermione said, "It's Christmas Eve meal! Everything should be perfect!"
"Why?" Ron complained. "I still don't get what all the fuss is about!"
"You're not a girl."
"What's that got to do with anything?"
Hermione sighed and shook her head. She was in ASDA with Ron. It was the 23rd December, and Harry and Ginny were coming to dinner the next evening. It was late, past 9 anyway. They'd already chosen Roast Turkey, Yorkshire pudding, and lots of vegetables, and now they were arguing over pudding.
"I say," Ron said, "That we should have treacle tart."
"Christmas pudding is more traditional," argued Hermione.
"Can't we just choose?" moaned Ron. "Flip a knut, or something?"
"That's just chance. What if it's the wrong pudding?"
"Look at the prices, Hermy," Ron sighed.
"Christmas pudding is £3.50. That's not a bad price, Ron!"
"And treacle tart?"
"Is… £2.70."
"See?" Ron said. "Treacle tart's cheaper!"
"I can see that," Hermione said coldly.
"Treacle tart it is then!" grinned Ron.
"I suppose…" Hermione groaned.
The two wizards walked towards the tills. Hermione paid, of course, Ron was rubbish with muggle money. He knew she was very stressed about this Christmas, but he still couldn't see why she was being so fussed about it. They walked out of the shop and into the snow together.
The couple walked towards the high street, and cut off to a side road. After a couple of minutes walking, they were finally on Ash Lane.
"Oh, and Hermione?" Ron said as they walked towards number 7. "I got you an early Christmas present…"
Ronald Weasly pulled a small box out of his pocket. Hermione opened it, inside was a necklace, a blue and silver charm on a chain.
"Oh, Ron! It's beautiful!"
"Merry Christmas," Ron said, smiling.
