I Miss You
I decided to write a story about Parker saying goodbye to two people he loved. *WARNING: Major character deaths*
A/N: Thank you so much to geekischic for all that you did for this story. Enjoy!!!!
Disclaimer: Not mine...don't own them. Although I wish I did own one Seeley Booth.
Chapter 1
Parker Booth knew that life wasn't always fair. He had learned that from Bones, no matter how much his dad tried to tell him otherwise. There were times when he wished his dad was right, and today was one of them. He didn't really understand what had happened- he just knew that his dad and Bones were gone forever. They were out on a case in Fredericksburg, trying to track down a drug dealer that was responsible for the death of his girlfriend and unborn child. The dealer decided he wasn't going down without a fight and opened fire on them before they had a chance to take cover.
Rebecca had told him later that night while they sat at the hospital. Bones had died at the scene, a quick and painless shot to the back of the head. Booth, on the other hand, had been shot in his side. They had rushed him into surgery. As Parker sat there and prayed for his father and mourning for Bones, Angela came and sat down beside him.
"He's going to be okay sweetie. Your dad's a fighter," Angela said as she wrapped her arm around him.
"I know, but I don't think he'll be able to live without Bones. He loves her you know."
"I know sweetie, and she loved him."
Angela grabbed the little boy up in her arms, trying to reassure herself for Parker's sake, that Booth would make it out of surgery. She knew Parker was right- Booth would not be able to live without Brennan. Who would be able to live without the love of their life or their best friend? She looked over at the gang and just sighed. Parker just sat there between his mother and Angela. He didn't know how long they had stayed sitting like that, before the doctor came out.
"Are you here for Agent Booth?" asked the doctor.
"Yes, how is he?" Rebecca asked, speaking for the first time since she had been there.
An uneasy look settled across the doctor's face, and Rebecca knew the answer before the words were even spoken. Parker, on the other hand, sat on the edge of his seat, needing to hear it before he could even begin to believe it. "I'm so sorry, but he didn't make it. The bullet was lodged in his lung and he lost too much blood. There was nothing we could do. Again, I'm sorry."
Parker took off running before the doctor even finished speaking. He just didn't care anymore. First Bones, and now his father. All he wanted to do was get away from the hospital. Away from the events he didn't want to face.
2 days later....
Parker Booth stood under the willow tree, looking at the two caskets with tears in his eyes. He wanted Bones and his dad buried beside each other. He knew they would have wanted it that way. And as everyone started leaving when the funeral ended, he stepped up to the caskets with bated breath.
"Hey Dad, hey Bones," he whispered as his fingers ran across the wood of the caskets, "I told mom and Uncle Max to bury you together. I knew you would want that. I know you'll take care of each other in heaven. I promise I'm going to make you proud of me Dad. I hope I make you proud too, Bones."
He turned around when he heard Rebecca calling him, and then turned back to the graves.
"Well, Mom's calling me. I have to go, but I'll come back everyday if can. I love you Dad and I love you too Bones. Please watch over me from up there, and I'll see you again one day."
He turned and started walking away as he heard their voices in the wind...
We love you too Parker.
The End
