"TONY WHERE ARE THE TARTS OF POP" Thor's booming voice could be heard on all levels of the Avengers Tower. He was standing in the kitchen one cupboard door lying on the floor. In asgard Thor had lived in the giant palace, his every need catered for by the army of servants attending the royal family. It was a strange experience for things to not to be readily available. The idea of shopping for his food was alien to him.
When the bleary eyed Tony walked into the room for the fourth time that month to see the cupboard door lying on the floor shattered by the gods strength, he made a decision, he would teach Thor how to get food. What did Thor do with all those pop tarts, surely even his momentous stomach couldn't hold that many. Only last week the cupboards were bursting. All of Tony's food was delivered, Jarvis did all the work, Tony had very little input, the food just appeared and Tony ate it or Pepper would pester him until he did. Jarvis should have anticipated the increased demand but it seemed Thor defied even the calculations of one of the most advanced computer systems on the planet. Not that Jarvis or J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent Machine) was a mere computer system he was the most sophisticated piece of software on the planet, an artificial intelligence. Tony was tempted to teach the Asgardian how to use Jarvis but he knew that wouldn't help. If at any point they were not in the, now infamous, Avenger's Tower Thor's calls to "the disembodied spirit" would get him nowhere. Tony wasn't exactly a fan of grocery shopping himself and that presented a problem. It was for this reason that Pepper woke to a grumpy Thor and a tired Tony debating on how to best wake her: "A crack of thunder would wake the maiden!" Thor remarked.
She raised a single solitary eyebrow and prepared herself for the madness this day was sure to bring.
Pepper, once the situation was explained to her, decided help was needed to achieve such a lofty goal. This called for the assistance of a fellow female, a certain spider. At the slightest movement by her bedside Natasha was up and poised to strike. Pepper was unfazed by the blur of movement and the flash of light as the cold steel of a dagger materialised at Natasha's side. Pepper still marvelled at the speed of her movement.
Natasha could see the exasperated look in Pepper's eyes and recognised it immediately.
"Pepper, it's the boys again isn't it?"
"Yes, it is " Pepper replied with a resigned sigh "Tony wants me to teach Thor how to shop"
"I assume he is accompanying us, it is about time he learnt.
"I feel Tony will never learn, even if you took him on a hundred trips. I have tried in the past, however I can't get more than a few meters out the door without Tony dragging his heels. Despite the fact he never acts like it, he is a grown man."
"This afternoon? I'm not busy and it's the longest time that Thor can survive without his 'tarts of pop'." She let out another sigh.
"C'mon" said Natasha, "let's get ready." They were in for a long day.
