Another Jay-Jay rewrite, this time it's "Jay-Jay's Colorful Cover-Up" Enjoy and comment.

It had been raining for two straight days at Tarrytown Airport, but soon, the rain stopped, and the skies began to clear up.

Jay-Jay was happier than ever to see the sunshine.

He raced out of the hangar, and raced across the valley.

When he looked over the horizon, he saw the biggest rainbow that he had ever seen.

"Wow!" exclaimed Jay-Jay.

Then, Old Oscar came over to admire the rainbow.

"That's the nicest rainbow I've ever seen." he said.

"It looks close enough to touch." said Jay-Jay.

"Sure does." replied Old Oscar. "But we all know it's an image in the sky. Believe me, nobody can touch a rainbow."

"If it's close, you must be able to touch it!" thought Jay-Jay. "I bet I can touch it."

And he decided to see if he could touch it.

Jay-Jay was supposed to be looking over his flight-plans, but he took off without anybody noticing.

"I'll get back in time for my training." thought Jay-Jay to himself. "Nobody will know I'm gone!"

Fifteen minutes later, he wasn't even close to the rainbow.

"That's strange!" he thought. "I should have touched it by now!"

All of a sudden, clouds began to form, and the rainbow disappeared!

Then, it began to rain!

And soon, it started to thunder!

Jay-Jay needed to find cover quickly.

He soon spotted an old red barn nearby.

Jay-Jay landed, and went for shelter.

The barn was fine, except for one problem... it was filled with hay!

Only Jay-Jay's head and wings were protected, but his rear-end was getting wet.

Jay-Jay then noted that he wasn't the only one seeking shelter.

He noticed two farmers, who were looking at Jay-Jay in amazement.

Jay-Jay smiled and introduced himself.

"I'm Jay-Jay."

"I'm Harry and this is my twin brother Larry."

Moments later, the rain stopped, and Harry and Larry helped Jay-Jay out of the barn.

Harry studied the little brown jet.

"Looks like you need a new paint-work." said Harry.

"Yeah!" added in Larry. "That way, you'll look great!"

Jay-Jay was soon fixed, but he didn't know that his rear-end was painted blue.

Soon, Jay-Jay set off, still not knowing that his rear-end was painted blue.

He thought that nobody would know that he was gone, but he was wrong.

"Love the new look!" shouted Herky.

Jay-Jay didn't know what Herky was talking about.

Then, EZ O'Malley came over.

"Good day Mr O'Malley!" said Jay-Jay.

But EZ O'Malley was concerned.

"What did you do?" he boomed.

"Nothing." said Jay-Jay nervously. "I did see a rainbow."

"Okay." said EZ O'Malley. "Let's start our training. I want you to fly Lighting Bug Lake, then come right back."

"Sure thing!" said Jay-Jay as he flew away.

But Jay-Jay soon found out what had happened.

As he looked down at Lighting Bug Lake, he saw what happened to his rear-end.

"Oh no!" cried Jay-Jay.

When Jay-Jay landed at Tarrytown Airport, EZ O'Malley was waiting with Brenda Blue.

Brenda Blue was holding a paint-bucket.

EZ O'Malley turned to Jay-Jay.

"What really happened?" he asked.

Jay-Jay didn't say a word.

"Jay-Jay, I hope you like the color blue." said Brenda Blue.

Jay-Jay was soon painted blue, and had learned a very important lesson, not to go out without permission, and telling the truth all the time, because if you don't, it will come back to get you.
