An Improbable Meeting

Preface

The dust on the dry, broken ground twirled and whirled around in the air like a miniature tornado caused by an unknown energy source. A blue square box flashed slowly in and out of existence and then settled with existing. A short moment later, a tall young man opened the door to the blue police box and stepped out of it.

He was wearing an out of date tweed jacket and an even more dated burgundy bowtie. The lower half of his body was wearing slightly shiny black jeans, rolled up at the ankles and grey-black boots. His forehead was cover by a brown mop of hair nearly covering his eyes. He started to survey the local area.

"Now why have you brought me here old girl?" Muttered the Doctor, "and where is here too?"

Suddenly the T.A.R.D.I.S door shut on the Doctor; making him stumble forward. He turned around just I time to see the Tardis fade away into the time vortex. The Doctor looked at the empty space where his blue box once stood.

"I guess I'm not getting any answers, then," he said to himself. The Doctor turned around to have a closer look at the area around him. After his gave him no immediate answer, he pulled out his sonic screwdriver and pressed a button on the device. It made a whirling noise, very distinctive of his screwdriver. The doctor flipped up the sonic to look at the readings; again no luck.

He then saw a silhouetted town in the not so far distance shrouded by the dusty air. The doctor put his screwdriver back in its rightful place, straightened his jacket and started heading towards the buildings. Unknown to him, that he was being followed by a mysterious figure.
